Exploring Pakistan’s Hidden Leepa Valley ( Karnah Valley ) - EP2

On August 14, we embarked on an unforgettable journey from the breathtaking heights of Ganga Choti to the serene Leepa Valley, a journey filled with stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences. Our first stop was Chinar, a charming settlement surrounded by lush greenery. From there, we proceeded to Hattian Bala, the main city of the Leepa Valley region, which is officially part of the Jhelum Valley district but is commonly referred to as Leepa Valley. This town serves as the gateway to the valley and is an important hub for travelers heading deeper into the mountainous terrain. The drive through Hattian Bala introduced us to the valley’s vibrant local life and gave us a taste of the natural beauty that awaited us.
As we journeyed further, we reached Reshian, the last major town before ascending to the higher altitudes of the valley. From here, the road became steeper, leading us to Dao Khan Top, a high-altitude pass sitting at approximately 8,500 feet above sea level. The views from Dao Khan were mesmerizing, offering sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains and the entire valley below. The air was crisp, and the tranquil beauty of the landscape left us speechless. After passing through Dao Khan, the road wound its way down into Leepa Village, where we encountered traditional wooden houses and terraced fields that gave us a glimpse into the valley’s agricultural lifestyle. The valley itself sits at an elevation of about 6,000 feet, making it a fertile and scenic destination, surrounded by towering peaks.
Finally, we reached Manda Kuli, the highest point of our journey, located at an impressive altitude of around 10,000 feet above sea level. The village is known for its panoramic views of the valley, with rolling hills, verdant fields, and crystal-clear streams meandering through the landscape. The beauty of Manda Kuli truly encapsulated the serene and untouched nature of Leepa Valley. From the dense forests and open meadows to the peaceful mountain villages, every aspect of our journey through Leepa Valley was remarkable. The valley's elevation, combined with its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, made this trip an extraordinary experience, one that showcased the natural wonders and cultural richness of this remote region.
