Excavators right a flipped articulated dump truck, South Charleston, WV

- I came upon this scene in early 2004 while talking a walk during my truck's alarm installation at the Trace Fork shopping center in South Charleston. The articulated dumper's trailer had overturned while emptying its load, and two excavators came to the rescue to pull the trailer upright.
The location here was behind what is now the ice rink (near Lowe's and former Circuit City), between the shopping center and Jefferson Road.
Cat and Deere put aside their differences to save that big ass dumptruck.
Nice one
4 yrs on Volvo A25D never flipped but first time running it never turn from forwards. Rocks cut my front tire in bush making roads. Two greenhorn drivers on Deere articulates flipped there loads but not the cabs. Reasons are old trucks. lol. Amazed that the cabs stayed upright. :)
Hi... Are you saying.. Never try turn when putting down the skip ? even though empty and light ?
All off-road dump trucks are designed for the bed to flip rather the cab.
The cabs are meant to stay upright when these machines flip.
I was working for a temp service operating an adt truck and they guy in front of me flipped his truck. Supervisor got mad and fired all 4 of us😂😂😂
Watched this a week ago and just did this today :(
I so hope I never flip mine! I don’t want to earn a nickname 🤣🤣
Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂 really
Hopefully the driver had the dump control in “down” when that excavator pushed the rods in.
I have tipped two of these over before. Different job sites.
I drive one everyday gotten it stuck alot but never flipped
Ive driven them for a few years now and havent come close to flippin.
@@rsracing-mb1tr well it's been 5 months now you flip it yet
next time raise the bucket in steps n tip gradually.
I flipped backing up because the ramp on the left side collapsed at the bottom 😒
😬 was there serious damages from a tip like that? To you and the machine
My truck had a nice mercedes engine in it.💪
I just started driving one of these, Volve A30G , i was thrown in deep end, and everyday im learning something new, must i always be straight when lowering my skip ? sometimes im turning all be, very slowly
im about to get thrown in head first tomorrow, hope I don’t flip!
Whenever you are dumping you must be straight if you have the machine that tells you how much your bed is sideways anything over 20%+ is to much 25% you shouldn’t try it and for him it look like he was trying to turn or dump if dumping going to be either uphill or downhill not sideways of turning wide turns or don’t do it at all
No need for the second digger , I've seen them flipped back over with bulldozers
It was on a ramp and it could be kinda sketchy. If the second hoe was close by, it couldn’t hurt to have him there
we use to tip them over for fun. the cab is not so fun though
I did the very same thing talk about scaring you when it dumps like that jars you hard
Did the driver lose his/her job for that?
Not necessarily
Aight now park that truck n come with me plz.... lol
Is it safe for the truck driver to be in the cab of the truck
Supermale Vitality yea only the bed will tip I’ve been driving one 3 weeks 73 hours a week lol still learning
Not to be mean but how can you still be learning it's a serious question I'm not trying to be mean if you're talking about getting used to the fact that they feel like they're going to flip over all the time I can understand that
Never had an articulator flip but it doesn’t hurt them at all just like in the video flip it back over and get back to work. They don’t feel like they will flip over you just have to be in bad conditions
@@brysonroberts2215 lmao I thought the same thing till I saw my coworker boo boo flip a cab and the bed stayed up while fully extended don’t ask me how
@@Sackdaman same thing happens to my co worker I think when the bed is up and yooure not full straight back and you dump the wheels kind get off the floor then come back down since it’s so heave and makes the cab flip due to the counter weight
wake up driver.....................never mind, your fired.
guy at work did the same thing and blamed it on me
common on mining
А где это работа?
I live in South charleston. Where was this?
