I've had the crf250l for around 5 years now and I had done every mod possible without digging into the engine. Pulled decent but was pretty much at the limit that the internals could take and the engine went pop. Bought a cbr300r and stuck that engine in it and with a couple mods like a custom twin exhaust, air filter the bike is so much quicker off the line!
Bought an Xr 250 3 years ago that had 1500miles on it, 2005 model and its just hilarious to ride purely because its not got a lot of power. Really nice bottom end though its definitely a chugging engine still makes me smile as much as my old yz450 supermoto did. I want to test ride the crf300 to see how much difference there is because I didn't notice much if any between the xr and the crf250l other than the injection was smoother than the carb. Loving all the content lately, you've out stood the UA-cam test of time and were also one of the reasons I started riding back in 2015 👍
I'd love to have a 300L, but the chassis on the WR is just bigger and better suited to my 6'7" frame. I hope Yamaha makes like a WR350R or something similar!
In regards to the misshifts, the CRF is one of the best clutchless upshifters I’ve ever had. It’s like a quick shifter honestly. Just need to set up the lever for your foot.
How is a 22 hp bike beating a 29 hp bike with mods? Then I kept watching obviously rider change makes a difference now it makes sense. Either way very very close and impressive. I’ve had all sorts of bikes in my life think I’m gonna have to grab a CRF 300 to daily this summer.
+3 in the rear, all the bolt ons, a power commander and even a 1 inch smaller rear tire. He's got the mods to make his bike accelerate just about as fast as it can. Yours still has a lot of potential. Can't wait to see it. Question tho Can you disable the abs for off road?
I got neck and neck with a 250 klx 2005 and i have 2021 klx300sm and than i hit 6th gear and pulled on him a little bit his 250 has bigger jets and exhaust mine 300sm stock kinda sad they bog them down
Carb is the best if you're looking for more power. Lectron or 39mm flat slide will do a lot. Lectron will cost you more but easy to install and you won’t have to play with jets to make it right.
Get a WR250…used! great bike to learn on. Don’t finance with dealer either. It’s basically a bad credit card, and hits your credit like like a multi thousand dollar purchase. Just save and find a used dual sport straight cash homie.
If the Honda responds to mods as well as the WR does, it'll handily outperform once uncorked. my WR was much nicer to ride after mods. Sold it and plan to get the 300l, but am planning for the much needed suspension upgrades. Stock WR suspension is MUCH better.
@@CumminsTurbo4 Oklahoma, it had a missing title and was pretty beat up. Put about $1500 into it and it's turned out pretty great. Getting the title wasn't to bad honestly but make sure you get the Vin ran before purchasing.
I’ve never understood why the WR250R/X get so much hype. I’ve seen KLX250/300’s right there with them. DRZs pull them with ease. People: WR amazing! KLX and DRZ400 slow garbage 😂
Lol its not hype at all bud I own one!!! The Wr250r is the best all around bike. I took plenty of Drz before on my Wr(If you no how to shift gears rite and get the Wr in the high rpms it will beat a Drz 400 specially if you go a longer distance cause the Wr has 6gears) it will without a doubt whoop the Drz on a trail track. There is a video on Utube with a guy on a Wr smoking a ktm300 with 45-50hp on a trail track.
Props for withstanding the test of UA-cam time. Still laugh like I did years ago. 💙

That’s what’s up. There’s a part, well two parts outa the cbr motor that’s going to end up in mine.. ☺️
loving all the content lately Jake! stoked to see some adventures on this bike when you’re done with it
Finally, content I want to see!
Thanks Jake!

the video we have all been waiting for
"how waterproof are your shoes?" 😂😂😂
That fish was huge! Keep up the awesome content man! Love to see it!

The ergonomics are basically the same. Hell I think the wr is a bit smaller.

VERY surprised the little red pig is faster😂 With a few upgrades I bet it will pull pretty hard, awesome to see!
When I do engine mods I’ll do them all at once. And I’ve got more then just bolt on’s in mind. Should make a significant difference.
@@TheGardenSnake big tuba charger guy over here.

Rad video man. 💪🏻🔥
pretty damn good especially when considering the maintenance intervals
What's your opinion on the 300l vs the 300 rally?

brings a smile to my face seeing slow mall bikes race. it make me miss my ninja 250
Wait what’s a mall bike?
@@TheGardenSnake i forgot the s for small bikes guess i'l just call them that from now on

Lol that’s what I was thinking, mall cruiser 😂🙈
That video was perty nice!
I've never seen 2 slow bikes look so fast 😅
You should see my grom videos when we’d have 12 bikes racing from ever light 😂
Thx for the video, I'm surprised, couldn't hear any wind noise, can u drop the secret plz, regarding ur mic.
Finally. Looks like stock vs stock or modded vs modded, the crf will walk
Now I just gotta wait for the mods to come out, industry is moving so slow
I'm loyal to Honda bikes, but I still put my bet on the WR250X to be a little faster.
Nice Jake I’m looking into get’n me one of them things Mann I like it
Let’s make a 300 squad
@@TheGardenSnake see u put’n ideas in my head hold on now lol !!! But is the motor good enough to haul a quad hummmm ?
Maybe a small quad. It doesn’t have that bottom end like a drz.
@@TheGardenSnake ok now that’s wut I was thinking so scratch that idea but put it on a different kind of bike maybe hummmmmmm !!!
Man, when I get back to Texas, we gotta ride, I’ll bring my R6 through the same trails y’all do just for shits in giggles.
Nice Video👍👌😎
but the wr250x is a 2008 design, 13 years behind the new honda 300L

Oh yeah all these bikes stock are pretty bad. Like my wr450f came with a throttle stop that only let it go to 25% or something.
love it
Any thoughts on the Husqvarna te610e from the 90s to the early 2000s?
It’s a cool bike. A friend had one and parts where hard to come by. Almost impossible at times.
Jake, just bought a 2021 Drz, what performance mods would you recommend?
Carb is the best if you're looking for more power. Lectron or 39mm flat slide will do a lot. Lectron will cost you more but easy to install and you won’t have to play with jets to make it right.
Thanks man.
I Really Want a supermoto for my first bike, but also i do like the ninja 400 im having a hard time choosing
I like the ninja 400 too. The Supermoto will be more capable and takes to drops really well.

drz will walk a wr but don’t compare a klx250 that is cheap garbage and feels slow asf
In terms of speed they are all very similar, but in terms of build quality and suspension and weight the WR is king
