Interesting advice. I've heard others say not to lunge as it takes more energy but judging by the guy's build it seems to be most efficient for him. From my understanding bigger guys struggle so much with the turn and even in the NFL the yoyo test has been used in its place just to ease the strain of the turn. Gonna try this now. Thanks

Great tips honestly. There is also an e book called Mastering the 20m beep test which helped me significantly. There is a 7 week workout plan to help you prepare for the beep test. I've recommended 'Mastering the 20m Beep Test' to all my friends who are prepping for fitness assessments. From level 8.5 to level 10.8 took me 3 weeks... The workout plan is tough but effective-I've never felt more prepared!
Hey Louis. How are you? Thanks for the feedback. This video was ia last minute throw together and yeah, you are right the audio is shit. Will wasn't mic'd up. I am curious though, is this something that you have been searching for? Would it be worth us re-doing it?
The Shake UP Sorry, going to just jump in here. I’m currently training to pass the fitness requirements to become a Police Officer in Australia. I m training for bleep test and train by doing long runs and getting my cardio up ( so far peak was 174) as well as short interval fartlek runs, what else could I add to my training programme to improve my cardio? On my rest days I cycle or I do 30 min full body workouts. I had a surgery 5 months ago and trying to get myself back on being fit, i just find it really hard and have soon a bleep test coming up. Any advice please?
Can i ask what distance you have between the cones? The cones dont look far far from each other. My record is level 8 at 20 metres and getting to level 13 sounds too good to be true. Will try your advice though.
Hey just wondering if this technique is legal. I love to implement this technique in my beep test training just want to make sure that if I do I won't be penalised for it.
I'm doing the beep test repeatedly at school for fitness testing and I was just wondering how you breath. I do in through the nose and out through the mouth but its pretty uncomfortable, any suggestions?
In nose and out the nose. Don't use the mouth if you can. Using the nose only will decrease your oxygen take in and lower your heart rate. It's gonna feel uncomfortable for awhile but you will get use to it. Honestly the beep test is more of a mental battle then a fitness test. If you can hack through the pain even a unfit person can perform well.
@@Rud01f nah. The more oxygen the worse imo. It increases your heart rate fast. Just do some running for training to find what ever breathing pattern suites you.

Which leg are you pushing off with after the turn? Does the power come from your front leg or the back leg that is on the line?
Good tips, but please turn off the background music could hardly hear the other person.
