It is an ideology that has its roots in our psychology and nature. Some people are born fully-fledged fascists, and as such it is always on the cusp of emerging. It is also a part of all of us to one degree or another, most of us, if we are honest, can feel where it comes from.

First sentiment I heard during my election night panic attack.
I knew he was going to be the republican nominee after seeing clips of his campaign announcement speech, and I just felt like an astronomer who nobody believed about the incoming asteroid for the rest of the election.
And now the rest of the people around me have either embraced pseudo-nihilism, keep saying "It'll work out", or get diamond nipples whenever he gets caught doing something. "THEY GOT 'IM THIS TIME!" No matter how many counter arguments I give, people would rather just wait for the boot to meet their door.

@Mr. D. Rektor Studios because the country is still beholden to a white supremacist militia in the form of the police, who have the power to literally bomb houses who themselves support, at least indirectly, other right wing reactionary groups like the proud boys.
And those right wing reactionary groups are far more organised than any left wing group currently is.
I'm not saying we COULDN'T create a left wing militia
But there's the added fact that political and social will leans right of centre, if not completely right, so a left wing group trying to take over would be far more demonised than any right wing group ever is.
The right wing have people like Ben Shapiro and Fox news motivated by the money of the rich to demonise left wing people just for existing, trans people are the subject of constant scrutiny, and they have done nothing.
If left wing people tried to do anything, it would escalate from infantalism and belittling to actually getting assaulted in the street.

And that's why fascists are obsessed with secretive groups with unlimited power, and evil plots. Because if the world is shit, but you believe the world as it is shold be perfect, then the only logical explanation is that someone is engineering the shittiness.

Looking back on 2016 now, it was very easy to dismiss people's reactions to Trump's victory considering the unpredictable nature of his very existence. I remember just kind of being along for the ride, taking in every random controversy every week, watching everything pile up, watching his inane supporters grow more and more offstandish with people who disagree on anything. 2019 marked the last year where I was not directly harmed in any real way by the actions of the Trump Administration. The pandemic got me thinking and delving more into politics because... what else was there to do? Thanks to these people's mismanagement of a health crisis I'm stuck at home, might as well dig deep into the terrible aspects of the country while my mental health deteriorates. Then the protests happened. These protests were and are used by the right as a massive statistics shield. ESPECIALLY after the Capitol Breach. "Oh well there was all this destruction and millions of dollars in damages so it's worse" or "You can't be angry at the people who stormed the capitol but not BLM" conflating the instances like one is directly comparable to the other, ignoring morals, the fact that one was a single event and the other occurred over multiple weeks in many places, and just generally any basic common sense. I maintain my stance that if the democratic supporters had stormed the Capitol to uproot the democratic process had Trump won, it still would be bad, but considering how the people in the MAGA movement think, how unreasonably close minded they are, all in the name of some guy who can barely even pretend to care? I'm starting to wonder if maybe I'm being to charitable.

This was back in the early 2010s, this was long before Trump came to power. Fascism has been present in America at least since the Cold War because fascism has always been more favourable in America to communism and many would say that it has been present since the very beginning of America since the colonists decided that they had the God-given right to steal land from the people who were there first and that they had the right to own another person based on the colour of their skin. All of this has been a long time coming, this is just the endpoint.

@@Spobbles69420 Your mistake is thinking that those of us who are not living in a right wing bubble are just living in our own bubble. We do not ignore what is said and done by the right and we don't take what media says as gospel. If a source tells me that trump said something I'm going to look for trump actually saying that thing. What's sad is that a lot of trumpers aren't even aware of many things he has said and done because right wing media won't report anything that might make him look bad. It doesn't report a lot of things that will make the right look bad so the people in those bubbles remain uninformed. And when it reports fake news no one investigates to see if it's actually true.
