    I’m actually fabricating a propane forge from an old 6 gallon air tank for filling tires so far so good. Waiting for the parts I ordered on Amazon. I hope it will work well. It will be a single burner which I think will be enough to heat metal. I have a coal forge for forge welding so only need a quick heating forge that I can fire up and use when I want to heat work quickly.

    Nice wonder how long a thick plate of gray cast iron on the exit end will last.

      I think it will hold on for a while with the refractory protecting it. Thanks.

    Hey Glenn I like the idea of ceramic fiber board instead of the hassle of kaowool+rigidizer+refractory cement but I understand it needs to be of high quality can you recomment a place that would ship to me and be of great quality? Oh and how thick should it be?

    Nice work sir! Where can one purchase the sheets of refractory?

      I'm in Taiwan and am not sure where you are and what is available in your area. But an online search should help. Thanks for watching.

    What are the dimensions of the forge? I am now planning to build a single burner.

    Didn't you have a blower on your forge
    I loved the solid refractory much easier to use

    • @gstongs

      I removed it, at least temporarily. Thanks.

      @@gstongs That's interesting. Any particular reason for removing the blower? I have a hunch that they're not an advantage except (possibly) when draught is a problem. People think they save fuel because they can use a lot lower pressure on the fuel gauge, but they don't realise the blower causes a Venturi effect and sucks the fuel in.

    can you provide a link to that type of refractory?

    • @gstongs
      @gstongs  11 місяців тому

      I bought it directly from a factory here in Taiwan not online. Sorry I couldn't help.
