It was in a way but the big difference was that a younger canelo was fighting the best fighter in mayweather. And valdez actually was able to hit stevenson at times. As for canelo, he was missing and just hitting the ropes and the wind almost all night long. Floyd was just a a master when it came to defense.

What a performance, I knew Shakur was putting on a clinic. I just love how Shakur said “I can’t wait to beat Valdez, Canelo, and Reynoso” at the presser. He proved it and he knows as good as they are, respectfully they can and will be beaten despite the constant high praises they receive. The Reynoso team will definitely start to crack no doubt. Shakur is going to reach the highest of highs and will prove even more people wrong. I’ve noticed with Reynoso that he genuinely tries to replicate every one of his fighters like Canelo. Only Canelo can be Canelo because he’s special but everyone else just doesn’t suit that style as best. I’ve always said that Eddie isn’t the best trainer in my opinion and he doesn’t really do much tactically to help his fighters and I do feel his stable is gonna start catching losses here and there.
