Phones are may getting a bit larger with higher specs, but they are also coming with an extremely healthy price tag as well!.. I don't mind spending around $350 + - for a decent tablet to use for media consumption. And I don't have to pay for a premium phone plan either, just to make sure I don't run out of those precious minutes. I am likely the sort of market this type of tablet is aimed at, and I'm grateful it's there!
Carmen Nooner I know!!! I am so amped to get one of these but not sure about the price. I mean it's priced reasonably but I know it won't be supported a year or two from now. At least not as well as the Apple tablets are. I'm conflicted caus I really want this tablet
@@AlexsaurusRex Android 9 is being tested on the M5 series as well as their flag ship phones right now and I am confident that this will happen at the beginning of next year.
Hands down one of the BEST reviews of this device. You answered so many of my questions (eg comparing the Kirin 960 chipset to that of the Snapdragon 820 - I couldn’t find that any where). Your review was thorough without being long winded and you stayed on topic. Thank you. Now I just need to decide if the 8” or the 10” is in my future.
What is the point of a review listing specs? I would rather see you use it and hear your thoughts about it than what the specs are, since they can be found and more easily rear online.
Hi. May I ask what is the current and latest Android & EMUI version for this tablet? Is there now a full dark mode? Can you disable or uninstall those pesky Huawei 1st-party apps? What gestures navigations do you like using on this tablet? Cheers.
No mention of LTE connectivity which is why I'm interested in this tablet. I've heard some countries disable this feature but again no information given.
Great review, thanks a lot. I am going to buy a tablet and my main concern is screen quality and weight, as I use it as a pdf reader. While white balance of M5 can be adjusted, I read in other reviews that even after doing this, there will still be a some blue tint on the screen, which will be very annoying for reading pdf files. Also those reviews say that contrast ratio of M5 is not great, again very important for pdf readers. Could you help me with this concern, and also let me know which of these tablets you recommend as pdf reader: M5, Tab S3, or Asus Zenpad 3S. Thanks again.
When you change screen it resets to a lower level,, you can change this with the slider by swiping down or you can set it to hold on what level you want like i have, its a power saving trick it has. So if say your on Facebook you can set it quickly to what you want but as soon as you come out of FB it resets down to save power. i found this a little annoying so just set it to a level i wanted and put a check mark in the keep this setting box.
I own the M5 and it's definitely a big and wonderful phone. The sim card goes into the same tray as the SD card; mine's got a 256gb card inside and working well. Yes, it's definitely a phone.
Barry Jordan I've read maaaaany reviews and it seems only some tablets are affected and to certain extents. I have the m3 and it happens sometimes but I can still stream and use blutooth even when it slows down a bit. Barely noticeable.
En ese tamaño (8 pulgadas) es lo mejor hasta hoy (2023) en android y con los servicios de google. Sin los servicios de google tienes la Huawei m6 turbo o la mucho mas potente y actual Lenovo Legion Y700
Can someone tell me is this tablet have some software for turning off the half of each of its speakers? Because when holding it my hands would be exactly on the speakers. Its a big problem for the devise if not.
Can you please call anything like this, that has phone functionality, a phablet. Makes things much clearer for the consumer, especially those who specifically seek biiiig phones."
Hi. Have you had any more new updates since doing this video such as enhancements to battery life, performance, security updates, the newer EMUI 8.1 or 9.0? Screen quality good in terms of sharpness, clarity & resolution? Any dark or night mode? Have you tried a different launcher? Can it play UA-cam in full 1080p 60fps and 4K 30/60fps? Would you say it can withstand the off splashes of water?
Huawei are testing Android 9.0 on their flag ship phones and the M5 series as we speak. I am confident they will do this update on these models in the new year.
@@MrAnamchara Is there any proof of your assumption? Being the M3 Lite (w/ its low specs/processor) I'm beginning to doubt if an update in the new year is iminent. I saw no evidence or indication Huawei has plans for 9 Pie for the M3 tabs.
@@TechNomadUK1 I never said anything about the M3 tablets being updated to 9.0. I only mentioned the M5 models. I have read evidence to suggest this. Find it for yourself, it is out there.
It has a 1440 screen resolution which is called ultra high definition. It plays Netflix UA-cam's and other streaming devices in high definition. I got a security update last week. Huawei mediapad m5 8.4 will get 9.0 pie before the Huawei mediapad m5 10 inch models. The speakers are extremely loud without distortion,

This is the review I want. I'm convinced to buy this now!
Great review. I own the Mediapad M5 10.8 LTE and I love it. Highly recommended!
Do u have any issues with wifi and Bluetooth?

The screen looks very muted. Do you have the brightness setting low or is the screen just not as bright or sharp as say a Samsung S4?

Are there some pens that works on this device?
Are those micrsoft apps full versions? I don't believe it.
What is your experience with using bluetooth and wifi at the same time? Wifi crawls to less than 2mbps,apparently.
Was there an update they enabled Netflix playback in hd?
Ed Cruzat TK claims that was sent out a few updates ago
Yes it plays HD now
Can i use it like a phone ?
Can it do Netflix and youtube?
Can this tablet be directly connected to a USB-C monitor?
No
Can it play 1440p video on youtube
When I first bought my M5 I watch 1440p on UA-cam, however, recently UA-cam discontinued it support for 1440p
Great review sir 👌👍🏻
For OCD person like me seeing an unbalanced bezel makes me really uncomfortable
I have this tablet and it's probobly best tabled what I had
Is it compatible with m-pen?
Nop
I ordered a m5 LTE, then I was told it was only a tablet. Originally, Huawei said it's also a phone. What's the deal here?

Vernal Scott I've been bamboozled. I really liked the M5,but I sent it back
Is it true that the bluetooth and wifi cannot be used at the same time?

this or mi pad 4?
M5能那來玩荒野行動嗎,會不會400至800公尺遠的距離的人物都看不到???
m5 pro has an overclocked cpu compared to the others.
Is it good for games?

Front 8mp not 5
Looks nice, but the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has a much better price.
But ATM can't play HD streaming.
I bought the Huawei Mediapad. It wasn't that much more.
But does it run fortnite... ; ))
