Watched your videos multiple times. Was inspired by them. Did the swap after I bought a donor SC with rebuilt heads. As expected there were things to work through. Even took it on. 4000 mile road trip after the build. Recently swapped back in the NA injectors cuz the X was really going through the gas in the tank and I couldn’t ever seem to pass inspection. I’ve got headers, full custom exhaust by yours truly with 4 high flow cats and all new o2 sensors, conical air filter breathing out from under the fender. Almost everything on my ex is relatively new. Engine rebuilt when I installed SC. Do not have SC ECU. Not tuned. I’m a hillbilly repairman. Yeehaw. After I swapped injectors (with all new manifold gaskets) I’m getting a misfire. Cyl 4. I haven’t fine tuned timing yet. Wanted the opinion from someone with experience in this vehicle with this swap. Should I retard the timing a smidge? Or keep it at 15? Adjust IACV beforehand? Anyway, hell ya brother. Next time I visit MT I’ll keep my eye out for ya.

I see this is old and no one replied. Have you tried moving the injector? If plugs are newish that would be my thought. VGs are pretty stout.

Okay this whole series is friggin' sweet man. I'd do this in a heartbeat, but I think I'll need a lot of work finding a donor vehicle. Not too many SC Xs or Frontiers in IL. Maybe in some junkyards if I look and they haven't been ratfucked for the parts I'll need.
Mine is in the garage currently, down to the block for head gaskets. Probably pulling the block too since a washer is inside of the oil pan and I should replace the clutch stuff anyways.
I'd like to cam it too, but $$$ for the repairs let alone the upgrades is tough. Going to look into steel head gaskets though.

Hey RP, awesome job. I live in Japan, and have a 2000 Pathfinder (Nissan Turrano Regulus here in Japan) with VG33E. I came across this video, and actually ordered an 90% complete OEM swap kit...(missing AC Compressor and Damper Pulley)...but already ordered as well. Can you tell me if the SC ECU can be plugged into the NA harness? or if i want to run the SC ECU, would i have to swap the harness as well? I am having a very hard time finding any ECU wiring diagrams for either engine. Any assistance/shared knowledge is much appreciated. I'm thinking about doing a video of my build...will share with you if I manage to make one.

    • @ParksBrosPerf

The wiring harness is almost the same. the only thing different as far as I can tell is the boost control solenoid. but you can run an aftermarket boost controller, or just leave it to the bypass valve on the sc. I think it opens at 5 to 8lbs. The sc ECU will plug right into the na Harness and run no problem.

Nice job you did there congrats to you and thank you for sharing. Wondering what you did to control the boost. I know you swap the ECU, but if you didn’t swap the wiring harness, how you did to integrate the boost solenoid?,. Did you wire it directly from the ECU?. I did the swap to my 2002 Frontier and all parts came from a 2002 xterra, I have no problems swapping the ECU but my harness doesn’t have a solenoid connector to add the solenoid. Any help is very appreciated.

R P I hooked up the boost gauge and I’m seeing 3 psi of boost and 5 psi disabling the bypass valve, looks like the valve is not fully closing and not producing enough boost (5psi).
I was playing to swap to a 2.3” pulley but there is no bolt holding the pulley and all the videos and info I have seen says it has a bolt. I think is just a press in pulley, I might take the supercharge off and take it to the machine shop to press it out and press in the new one.
Did you swap yours yourself? What did you use and is yours without a bolt as well?
Sorry for the questions, I’m mechanically incline and more knowledge on turbos, but I’m just new to the this system of supercharge.

Its easy to get a tooth off on the dist. If its running rough and chattering it could still be the timing. and make sure the bottom port on the supercharger bypass diaphragm is open. if its capped or seeing pressure, it makes a-lot on noise.

Have you tried using the n/a xterra injectors? I was thinking of trying my hand at a remote supercharger setup with a supercharger off a different vehicle because finding a sc xterra has proven to be impossible in my area. it seems like the n/a computer can handle boost so that would really only leave me with whether or not the injectors are ok to use. any info is greatly appreciated!

Hey so I have a couple questions if you don't mind. I was able to do the swap successfully and have been really enjoying it (pulled the stuff off a frontier for $160) the only thing that has been a problem is it hesitates really bad from a stop if you get on the gas hard. if I ease on the gas its fine and when it gets going I don't have any problems. I have changed plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and cleaned the maf. it seems to be running too rich at idle maybe? I was curious if you have/had this problem as well and if you did anything to fix it. Also because my truck had egr and this setup doesn't I have a code for the temp sensor and was curious if you knew a way of bypassing it? I have the computer from the frontier which i tried but it was having communication problems with my transmission and it smelled like it was burning up the torque converter because it couldn't lock up correctly so i quickly switched back to my stock computer.
