- Want to learn what it's really like here in Murrieta, CA?
I'll show you! ⚡ Murrieta, California is a wonderful place to live. It's affordable, you’re just about an hour’s drive to the beaches in San Diego & Oceanside, an hour from Disneyland, and 1.5 to 2 hours to Los Angeles, as well as 2 hours to the mountains of Big Bear, there's lots to do, and so much more. But no place is perfect so here's what I love and what I'm not so crazy about.

I’m a full time Realtor® in Murrieta, CA. I'm a proud USMC (Ret.) spouse, sometimes tech nerd, and burger fanatic. My husband and I have four great kids and a talkative siberian husky mix & a chihuahua; the chihuahua’s the boss.

For questions, feel free to email me, lisa@sand2sea.us... Are these the worst things about living in Murrieta? They were the top 7 I thought of; if you have some more, I'd be happy to do a sequel video, but watch out! I can't help looking for "the good news." ;)
My folks settled in Murrieta in 1980 or 81. Back then, it was mostly horse ranches and farmland. Near old town, it's still a bit rural-ish. I've been back living her since 2011. I thought I'd be able to visit friends more in LA/Orange County areas, but traffice into the city, whether north or south is brutal. It is definetly N O T an easy drive to LA
I lived in Murrieta from 1990 to 2000. When we got there, there was one intersection with a 4-way stop sign and no traffic lights. Within 5 years traffic lights and traffic were everywhere, and my commute was ridiculous. I moved back to Orange County for the rest of my working career. There is no ‘easy’ drive from Murrieta to San Diego, Orange or LA County.
I'll redo the list for you.
1) Traffic getting out of town (Orange/LA/San Diego counties)
2) Not as cool as Temecula
3) Closer to Lake Elsinore, which isn't a good thing.
There are only 3 things that are a challenge in Murrieta as compared to other cities in the area.
Thank you for chiming in :) Those are challenges. On #2, do you mean cool weather or 😎?
So it’s no good to move from San Diego to Murrieta?
@@zaid55452 for what you sell your place for in San Diego and prop 13 you could retire in Murrieta. Lots do it. It is hot here, un-sophisticated.
I don't see anything bad about none of those points.
If none of these is a deal-breaker, you're in the right place! If you can work from home post-Covid or have a commute that's reasonable for you, this is a great place with access to most everything in California. How did you come across this area?
We love Murrieta and Temecula. I think everyone knows that no city is perfect. There will always be pros and cons. For us, it’s the state of CA itself that gives people the biggest headache.
I'm looking to move there this June hopefully to rent a 4 bed 2 bath home. Let me know if someone can help me with that:) looking for a place that would be nice to raise my kids
We have rentals coming on the market on a rolling basis. Usually, a home rents within a 30-day cycle, but you can be watching the market as the time approaches to learn value. Feel free to call me for more info, 951-704-4559/ lisa@sand2sea.us
If you want 4 seasons then CALIFORNIA is NOT for you
Dude, stop repeating this myth. Maybe this is true in Socal, but MOST of California has 4 seasons. Turns out, there's a lot more California when you drive north of LA....
How about Northern California The Bay Area
I lived in No Cal for college and for me, the cool/cold weather was a deal breaker. And at this point, the housing prices up there are kind of off the chart. I love the schools and restaurants up there though.
It's nice living outside the city. I like being able to show up for cultural events. But living IN the city blows. Too many thieves. Nowhere to park. Way too expensive. For me, anywhere off Highway 35, or in the 831 is where my heart is.
One word…. Democrats
It's pretty embarrassing to drive through Murrieta and see vulgar flags being sold on the street corners.
I’m from LA and thinking of buying in either Murietta, Temecula, or Menifee - what type of vulgarity are you talking about? Just curious
Only for Dems! 🇺🇸😂
Not vulgar. The reason why Murrieta is so safe and has great schools is the large amount of families with conservative values. Don't like it, move to Temecula.
It’s not safe here anymore, red light running is sport, 2 dead last Thursday, porch bandits, catalytic converters and mailboxes stolen, entitled- cheat the system culture
I've lived here since 1974, the population was around 2000, murrieta Elementary and Elsinore union high school was our only schools. It's crazy watching it grow around us.
not true i live there its not true might be ur own opion
What I liked about Murrieta has been lost. Affordability. I literally had an 800$ electric bill (one month) last month. Rent/Mortgages have gone up between 12 and 40 percent in the last year. There's so much stupid LA money moving in here. I'm leaving this spring. It's too hot, too much traffic, and too suburban for me. Plan to move north of Calistoga where there are small pockets of more affordable housing. I'll have a rough commute into Santa Rosa but at least I can survive.
I miss band sandwiches.....Thank you CC Band Moms!!!!
Maybe consider re do the video? What’s that noise ?
wildomar city is nice to its next to Murrieta
You can check safety with lots of websites, and do your investigation! During escrow, at various days and times, go by the house you plan to buy to see who's around. Do you feel comfortable all those times? Check with relevant authorities about the neighborhood. The only thing you can't change about a home is its location.
Then move to somewhere else where you can have action every night .
Murieta/Temecula... Death by boredom. Old Town needs to take a field to Old Town San Diego. The money you save on housing you'll spend on gas driving to somewhere fun. It's also the land of no uturns. On the weekends it's a chore to drive around. I guess a great place if your retired, and don't need a lot of variety.
@@811stever you do not need a uturn. pull into a parking lot and turn around. thats what the rest of the country does.
Your right brother 😆😆
#1 - wildfires. Hopefully everythings good where you are. I live in a wildfire prone area in southwest Colorado. scary stuff.
The fires now are quite a few miles west and most of our area is quite safe, thank you
