Thanks for posting. The ford's never got the attention they deserved. They were pretty fuel efficient. And the engine was overbuilt. Really a tough piece of equipment. In my opinion..

I agree, tough machines that today still put the hours in. New Holland tractors today are even pretty good machines that don't get as much attention as they should.

Great video! We still use a Ford TW-30 MFWD on our farm. Bought new in 1979. It doesn't get much use these days but in the 80's and early 90's it was our primary tillage tractor. It's neat to see them still in action.

Brings back fond memories of running a TW 20 as our main "big" tractor in the late '80s- early 90s. Ran 23.4-34 rears, and it always looked like is was squatting down to pull a load. Pulled like a team of mules, just wouldn't quit. Roomier cab than the Sound Gard, and floor button Hi-Lo was nice when you were chopping. At the time, our #2 big tractor was a Ford 9600. Loud & rowdy Hinson Cab wasn't pleasant, but it would pull anything you could get a hook on, up to and including the gates of Hades. That tractor won a few Pulling Trophies in it's day.👍

I believe that spooling up sound is the tip turbine. It’s part of the aftercooler assembly which uses a small amount of pressurized bleed air from the turbo to to move more air through the fins of the cooler. Mack Trucks built thousands of trucks with this feature in the 70’s.
