the reason why shaman of the tenyi doesnt negate cheng ying summoned from the gy is specifically cuz it was summoned from the gy. You cannot activate monster effects of monsters other then tenyi summoned from the ED

Side note the *ed ones the best ones 1. *Face down cards can’t be used as fusion material but can be used for tributes of a ritual or tribute summon or effect. 2. *1 Normal summon and 1 set or 2 sets (or 2 normal Summons) (Either Or or 1 set, 1 normal summon, 1 tribute Summon) 3. *You can normal summon in face-up defense position 4. *Tokens can be used as xyz material 5. *Increase the Extra and Side deck to 20 6. Draw 1 card when you end your turn 7. *Link monsters can be used as synchro material but count as level 0 ofc 8. get rid of missing timing 9. *Get rid of properly summoning 10. *Ritual monsters that say “YOU CAN ritual summon this card” can also be Special or Normal summoned like regular monsters. Only Rituals that say “MUST BE” must be ritual summoned. Or Ritual Monsters start in the Extra Deck. 11. You can Fusion summon fusion monsters without poly by Summoning material on top/in the same zone as the other material.( for monster that requires 3 material the material must be on field or in hand just like how poly works. ( if you’ve play Dark Duel stories then you’d know how this works) ( its just a choice between letting this summoning mechanic be a fusion summon or not which ofc it should be counted as Fusion summon so then monsters gain their effects and if the material is sent to the gy or is stays stacked in the same zones.) 21. *Bring back the Pendulum zones but you can only pendulum summon monsters equal to the # of zones in between where you placed your scales in the back row. So with how the board is set up now you can only pen summon 3 monsters. So if you want to summon 5 they’d need to bring back pendulum scale zones plus it’d be cool to set traps in your pendulum zones yk 22. Link monsters Arrow can be used to climb up or down the field creating EMZones on your opponent’s field or your own S/T zones (monsters that are on your side of the field under the opponent’s control can be used as summoning material for link, xyz, synchro, fusion, ritual, or tribute summons) 23. Both And/or Link arrows just let the link monster attack the zones it points to along with monsters in the same Column 24. *Monster in the main monster zones can only attack the monsters in the same column as themselves and when the zone is empty you can attack directly. 25. If you summon Chenying from the graveyard with Shaman you can still use Chenyings banish effect since it was summoned from the graveyard and not the extra deck.
I think one reason Pot of D is "worse" in MD is because you don't want to banish your Protos which can be searched with emergence. In TCG Protos isn't legal (too bad - it'd be so good against Tear) so there's no reason not to max out on desires.
I’d be down for you bringing this to a regional but I also think it’d be dope af if you brought this to a local and recorded your gameplay. Seeing a good Swordsoul pilot play is so fucking creamy.

The side deck has nothing for backrow… this would pretty much hard lose to floodgates and backrow outside of vishuda and Baxia; but you’d need to get to them 😅 Deffo take this to a regional 😅
The side deck is depending on your region too, for example in LATAM events, the helmet and traps decks are more common than USA events for the budget decisions. Maybe in their region, they aren't enough backrow decks or itsn't a problem for the deck.

Regional pls but consider siding for backrow so you dont get waxed in the early rounds atleast lightning storm and duster/evenly body floo anyways so probably wouldnt hurt over the dark hole and/or raigeki

Tis deck is amazing. I also use the same build, magnamhut frisson badass for real. I also add some spice in it, called end punisher. Imagine half lp paid and u got easy lvl 11 summoning. XD
Underestimating swordsoul this format is a big mistake. Last week I went undefeated at the locals I go to & beat 2 ishizu tear players b2b. Wasn’t easy but very much doable. I cut shtanna & run 3 Adhara instead. Can easily go into 3 synchros per turn if you don’t get interrupted. I’ve even gone a crazy hand where I go into 4 synchros. Ending board was sinister longyuan, chixao, rizen dragite & dawn dragster

Because locking light is not good option rn, the best way make chaofeng amazing in this format is to lock dark monster. And the only way to do that just add jiaotu, but he didn't so not necessary. The other reason could be the rank 6 come up more often than chaofeng since he run 9 bystials and 3 longyuan
Went x-0 at my last two locals with swordsoul. Only played 4 bystials to make my opponents useless. The rest is just power cards and engine bc deck has no problem going second

My only difference for the side is replacing the 2 dark holes with L storms. I know exosister the backrow is more threatening than the monsters.
