@@etenby699 level designs are fun, shine placements were never bad, blue coins were fun to collect (except that one that would crash the game lol), I don't see that as facts.
"B" isn't jump on the Gamecube controller because Jump is the most important action, so it gets assigned to the biggest button. That's the whole point of the Gamecube controller design: most games have an action you do way more than others, so you should have a button that's easier to hit than the others to perform that action with. Anyway, I always loved Mario Sunshine, and I also don't understand why so many people dislike it. Like, sure, Mario 64 has a *ton* more freedom in terms of how you progress through the castle, but Sunshine has a lot more freedom of *movement* in most of the game, and the sections where you don't are very tightly designed 3D platformer challenges. I guess people don't like the FLUDD controls or something?
I'm saying this from a place of extreme love, I think Sunshine is the best game in the 3D All-Stars pack: Despite the freedom of movement, it's pretty imprecise when you need it to be super precise. If you want to move a single step in any direction, a small nudge will make Mario take 2-3 steps in that direction instead of one step. If this had the precision of Odyssey (I know it came much later, but bear with me here), then you'd be able to hit the harder jumps with greater ease, and it would flow easier and feel better
@@ElihuAran I can't speak to how it controls on the 3D All-Stars pack because I didn't pick that up while it was out, but on the original GCN version, that is just flat out not true. You can get very precise movement from partial tilts with the analog stick. It's _difficult_ to master that precise movement, especially if you're trying to put it together with other movements in a speedrun, but it is absolutely there to master.
Sunshine is actually a very good game that got a ton of hate for being on an unfortunate console at an unfortunate time. Isolated from history this is a fun and challenging game after all!
I think it's funny that I just started my first play through of the GC version of this with an 8BitDo Pro controller, and I'm having the exact opposite problem with A/B buttons that you're having with the GC controller on the Switch. Probably going to put this down for a bit though, because I just found out about Zelda64Recomp Majora's Mask, and oh my gosh is it pretty and so well polished for what amounts to a fan remaster of the original game. I know you just did your Zeldathon playthrough a little while ago, but if you haven't already, I would grab a copy of Zelda64Recomp even if you aren't thinking about playing it right away, just in case the Eye of Sauron turns its attention towards the project.
Sunshine is one of my favorite mario games, I’ll never understand the hate
Yeah me too. It's a straight upgrade to 64 as far as I'm concerned.
I despise its level designs, Yoshi mechanics, story, Shine placements, blue coins, simplified controls, etc. But I'm glad it has a fanbase.
Same with Paper Mario Sticker Star, why do people always hate on the best games??

@@TheCastaberg I never said these were facts. I was talking about how I hate these aspects of the game. It's a preference thing.

Omg this is my favorite Mario actually!
Sunshine is such a great game. Why so much hate?
It took me forever as a child to find out you can spray water AND run as well xD

Great video Shoujo, I haven't played this game in a long time 😊 and is this the switch version?
Why is it "the worst"? D:
i don't think it is, but a lot of people regard it as such. i really enjoyed my time with this!
Thank you for another upload. Sorry haven't been around lately. Job is eating my life. Hope you are all doing well
hope the job lets up soon, so sorry to hear about the stress.
Who the hell says Sunshine is the worst Mario game? Are they dumb? Have they never played New Super Mario Bros. 2?
great video
Way to go Mario Sunshine: making environmentalism bad. GG Shoujo!
