In simple terms, transitioning from capitalism from socialism is just the removal of capital, as in the surplus value that is extracted from labor (and used to create more capital). A "socialist" state is essentially just a "capitalist" state, minus the presence of professions whose only purpose is to enrich themselves-feudal lords, then industrialists, now corporate shareholders. Communal ownership of the means of production, & redistribution of wealth, are the natural consequences of socialism, not intrinsic traits
