I do it on Fridays or Tuesdays. If it is a regular day, then I do it with just water. If it is a festival esp navaratri, then I do it like what is shown in the below video.

Dont know how to identify it while buying. But once you start using it, you will observe that panchaloha will not tarnish. It will remain brite yellow just like gold even when exposed to air for months and years. While the brass will tarnish within a few days.

Hi, this was a gift from a temple as a blessing, I do not know the cost of this idol. This is about 1.25 feet and weights between 12KG to 15KG. So, I am assuming that this would cost about Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15000.
