- World of Warcraft patch 10.2.7 launched last week and the Nerubian Azj-Kahet zone hit the War Within alpha. Between them, there are HUGE lore reveals, like the fact K'aresh, the Ethereal home planet, heard the Radiant Song (just like Anduin and others on Azeroth) just before Dimensius appeared and destroyed them all! Does this mean the Void Lords are on their way to Azeroth? We have the Child of Light and Shadow, Arator, the rebuilding of Silvermoon in the Whisper of Warning short story, the new Draenei capital city, and that's before we even get to Azj-Kahet, the forgotten world tree Elun'ahir and its secret guardians the Harronir, the new old god depicted in the City of Threads fresco, and also we get our first look at War Within ENDGAME! The Weekly Reset, Taliesin and Evitel's Wondrous Wisdomshow

I hope we get another high budget cinematic before the release. Seeing Dalaran’s fall would be so epic in that polished Blizzard CGI.
I would prefer a new audiodrama like the ones we got in legion.
Honestly BfA has spoiled me. We had what, like 15 minutes of CGI cinematics in that expansion? Saurfang's story was so cool. I hope they do the same during the World Soul saga.
Diablo 4 also had like a 11 minute CGI cinematic which was insane.

I hope so as well. Neither DF nor TWW (so far) had any hype cinematic trailers. I have nothing against more character or story driven cinematics but give us something cool as well, something to hype us up and motivate people to buy the expansion. Look at how hard they went on D4 advertising, they even had Megan Fox doing ads, and the game sold like crazy.
I feel sorry for Locust walker.

I mean, who doesn't wanna be a cool ethereal void dude? Then again, they probably don't get to experience the pleasures of taste and touch.. or even sleep? Those are my 3 of my 4 main hobbies! (The other being reading.. and though they don't have eyes, they can probably see.. right?)
If the new draenei city can fly, that could make it really easy to park outside Silvermoon, like a kind of double city.
Interestiiing. That would help solve the whole neutral city or no neutral city discourse, and also would be cool as fuck

I highly doubt the new city will fly, the reason it was floating in the hologram is because...well, it was a hologram 😂
But seriously, the new city is meant to be the Eredar finally settling on Azeroth, making it their permanent home. They already have the Vindicaar and the Exodar has been confirmed fully repaired. Those can fly but the new one should be a proper city with settlements akin to what we saw in WoD.

Splitting hairs a bit, but a fresco is specifically a painting onto wet plaster. The big void monster image looks like it's meant to be a relief sculpture, carved into the wall itself.

My human lock liked the void elf starting zone so much, I bound my hearthstone there.

Radiant song is definitely a kind of "Cries of birth" type thing. The noises heralding the "hatching" of the world soul. Which I can see being the thing that attracts the void lords and other interested parties in.
Can't wait to see the bit they come up with for the wondrous wisdom orb when the opening quests finally go live lol
Iirc if you got it on the alpha, it'll say something like "The orb remains oddly quiet"

I actually really like the underground feel especially with some of the zones being as beautiful as they are. And it does provide a unique feeling of when you do go up to the surface you get a nice feeling of accomplishment like a miner coming up after a hard days work to collect his paycheck.
I really like this mindset of yours. I’m gonna remember this as I play.

I don't understand why people are acting shocked that the zones are getting rebuilt the way Silvermoon is. Blizzard explicitly said they would be during one of the Blizzcon interviews; the only "new" information is that it will have a full city outside the Exodar rather than the existing city inside Exodar being brought up to modern standards.

I may have figured out the Crystal. In part by something Taliesin has said before.
1: Chronicle mentions that after the creation of the cosmos, shards of pure Light impacted some worlds, bringing such worlds to life, with a World Soul forming inside. I think the giant light crystal is that.
2: Sargeras slew a world with his blade. Tore his sword through that void-tainted world.
3: That same sword was then plunged into Azeroth. And that is when the crystal began its cycle of half Light and half Void.
What if the darkness of that world clung to the blade? Or perhaps even its soul was bound into it? Thus unleashing indeed a giant battle of Light vs Void, for the fate of Azeroth's soul.
That's.. an interesting thought 🤔 kudos if it turns out to be true!

I came back to the game, and haven't played Dragonflight yet.
I stumbled onto this new quest, and when Alleria (first) brings you to uh, whatever the void elf place is. Since I had never been there, I decided to ignore her quest and talk to all the npcs. And the big bandage dude straight out says the Harbinger is Xalatath.
I don't know if that's an oversight, or a cheeky way of letting the player know that he knows shit before Alleria does.
Like he says who the Harbinger is the moment you step in the void realm, long before you question the void elf scouts. Before you visit Northrend and ulduar. Before you fight Turlyaon. The Locus Walker just straight up says the Harbinger is Xal. Would have saved us a lot of walking.

The start of the video pretty much express what would happend if WoW players had a choice on the matter, lol hilarious. But omg when Tali said in 17:30 in the video that he will make 20 videos before the expansion releases really had me lmao I was not expecting such blunt honesty about it, it was hilarious. Great video, very entertaining and funny!
So far I'm most excited for this zone/ story. I LOVE the nerubians and their lore and Maldraxxus is one of my all time favorite zones. Blizz should add weird little guys with slimes to every zone bc it just makes everything better

They could have added bank/post/barber etc by having that Goblin/Niffen camp spread here and there and go all-in for the weird spider stuff - narrow webbed spider tunnels, Nerubians walking on walls/ceilings all creepy and spiderly
I feel like Avalore will be a patch zone (or few) or at least what’s left of it after being attacked by Dimensius (because imagine the shock for the Arathi to have left their empire to save the world only to find it crumbling under a void onslaught.

So the fresco you talked about at 17:22...that green gem reminds me a lot of the Sepulcher tier sets. The normal tints for every class were covered with very similar green gems on gold accents. Hmmmm... I have no idea how the FIrst Ones might tie into this storyline (and truthfully, I hope it doesnt) but the similarity is so striking that Im reluctant to dismiss it as coincidence.
I think the Draenei city is going to be Shattrath. "The Ashes of our exile" was mentioned, that sounds like Outland. And the new artificer was constantly mentioned as having plans to rebuild Shattrath.

Do you think for sure Alleria and Turalyon are going to fight? I struggle to see how that could happen. Any theories?

With silvermoon being rebuild, and the draenei's building a new city it made me think they are giving back the core races places for themed houses.
Worgan reclaimed Gilneas recently, Undead reclaimed the surface of Lordaeron and the Night elves got Bel'ameth.
It would make sense that the first houses (if they did do player housing) would be race/city themed, and the fact that Bel'ameth has portals and boats makes it feel like they want players to stay at that city after the dragonflight expansion is over.

My speculation is that the roots of Elun’Ahir are the same roots we saw in the Rift of Aln, in the Emerald Nightmare.
with the upcomming expansion named "Midnight" i would say its safe to say we WILL be dealing with a voidlord, i mean we went up against old gods, titans and the jailer, makes sense we might have to deal with a voidlord

Botani escaped the portal in the Mag'har storyline. So there's a secret Botani group somewhere on Azeroth.
Maybe. To unlock the Locuswalker race, we have to feed our characters to the new old god. Just walk right in!
Anyone else realized that Velen now only uses the Term Eredar for his Ppl again instead of Draenai, since they are not exiled anymore.... I loved this little tidbit in the Quest more than a lot of other things happening in there as well...
I just headcanon'ed that the void is going to corrupt the roots and grow a huge void world tree with tentacles instead of branches!

Question about the entire "child of light and shadow" theory...wasn't the entire prophecy that revolved around about the child of light and shadow ending the age of demons? so why would he be involved in a clash between light daddy and void mommy?
I don't think we ever heard anything of the prophecy other than what Xe'ra thought it meant- and a common thread of prophecies in fiction is people thinking they know what they mean but being wrong
I mean....Azuremyst Isle is on the other side of the world so maybe having Silver Moon partially Neutral is the best option.
Are there Troggs and Drogbar in any of the zones?
I'd assume that they'd add any and all older underground themed races and creatures to a mostly underground themed expansion at the very least haha

I know everyone thinks that the Radiant Song is coming from Azeroth herself, but I get the distinct feeling that it's coming from the Light crystal in the cavern.

Crazy question: With Mists of Pandaria getting a sort of “classic reimagined” treatment, do you think they’ll skip doing a full-on classic release and maybe put that effort into giving us the WoD experience they originally had planned? I mean they’re going all in with season of discovery, it’s not as out there as it seems at first.

Possibly wacky idea but the brokers from Shadowlands are quite similar to the ethereals. Is it possible that K’aresh was the Jailer’s first attempt at claiming a world soul, and Dimensius was able to bombard the planet with void and arcane due to an alliance between void and order, with the stipulation that the world soul was to be completely destroyed, so nobody could get their hands on it? Might explain why there isn’t a Void World Soul stomping around despite the Void consuming K’aresh
I forgot to add in this theory, the brokers would presumably the ethereals caught in Death’s attack on K’aresh

There was a pretty obscure leak approx 1-2 years ago (that seems to have now been completely scrubbed from the internet) that said we would be travelling to K'aresh with the Ethereals to obtain *something* which helps us save Azeroth. Have no idea as to its legitimacy but could well be heading that way.
A weird thing that could be void or light that the nerubians want and the arathi revere? Hmm... definitely not the void/light thing in the ceiling of hallowfall.
Man... I haven't been excited for an expansion since Legion. TWW looks awesome and made me return to retail. I'm just gobbling up all the lore like a maniac.

i love maldraxus and the nerubian style. Hated the highborne cuz i had to crawl around to grind the silver droplets of rep for the race (only for it to be given away for at lvl50 a month later). I just hope the zone doesn't feel too much like an arcade. Minigame here, mini game there, have a key to unlock a map to find the chest. I basically hope for narrative that will make the place feel solid but also the over all story too. Nowadays u go into a zone and the zone almost has a completely disconnected story up until the final quest that "connects" the dot to the main event of the expansion.

Suramar is the single best City in the entire game and im kinda shocked it hasnt been used other then as a questing zone up
So, here is a conflict with Lore that unsure is intentional or not. Supposely Azeroth (out world soul) is sending the Radiant Song, but if the Ethereals heard it (before his world was consumed by a Void Lord), wouldn't that mean that the Ethereal World also had a World Soul that then was consumed by the Void? Wasn't Sargeras reason for attacking Azeroth just to avoid the creation of a Void corrupted Titan/whatever the world souls become? Does this mean there is already a Dark Titan out there made from the world of the Ethereals?
