@@yegventures I was really sad to see that your latest video was 9 months ago, so I'm really glad that you're still working on this channel! I love your transit videos, and absolutely cannot wait to see your next ones. You do great work, and your amount of passion and commitment shows :)
@@MatthewBoonstra Hi Matthew, Thanks for the message and being a fan! My videos are now posted on the Yegventures Facebook page as the primary source, as there are substantially more views and reach. I will from time to time still post videos on here, but since UA-cam pulled monetization for this channel, it's been downhill for the platform in general ever since, as their new guidelines don't really support local content creators.
+DDD Francis No, the Metro line was forced open after being delayed for 1.5 years. The signalling system is still not repaired, which means that the drivers have to use line of sight to ensure the road crossings are clear and closed before proceeding. Maximum speed for the Metro section in the video is 25kph. When fully open though, I predict a max of 40kph due to how the track snakes around the region. Edmonton's system also is a light rail, not mass rail, so the max when there is a straight and distant station on the North and South sides, will reach up to 70kph. Even so, it never reaches that speed because the stations are so close together. That said, 70kph is quite fast for a mass rail (as opposed to something like an airport express). Average speed for most mass rail services in North America is between 15-20 kph. (source: greatergreaterwashington.org/post/5183/average-schedule-speed-how-does-metro-compare/)
The infrastructure in Edmonton is crap, the train only goes to certain places doesn't even go to the West End or the North side all it is is Southside and downtown. Edmonton is a place that doesn't have a train system in Canada
It has changed over the years. All in all. The City did a great job in Extending the L R T.
The ETS Workers seem so friendly compared to Toronto TTC workers
They really are!
nice. i did a timelapse as well with my phone. ( didnt bring the camera with me) i also did the clairview-century park timelapse as well :)
How did you get the audio for the stations? email the city?
I recorded them
southbound train to the airport ??
Only what several years late?
Do a video about the upcoming mill woods project!!!
I'm planning to! Have some footage already.

@@yegventures yay! I'll be sure to check those out 😊
It would have been better to video this during the day
I'll be sure to make sure Edmonton Transit reschedules the first train in the afternoon just for your viewing pleasure.
the train seems very slow. is that normal for this system?

The future LRT line will go to East and West in December 2020
A bloody waste of 600 million plus.
