I really enjoy watching you and your wife with your son and his birth family. I’m adopted also, I didn’t have the ability to know my birth mother but I do know my birth brother. We grew up with different families but our adopted mothers made sure we knew each other and spent time together and it’s so crazy because we are a year apart and look like twins. We have a relationship today and we both grew up with so much love just like how you shower Abriel. Beautiful!!

As someone who will never get to hear the word "mum" this makes my heart melt and hurt at the same time.❤❤ It's grief for a little person that I never had, that I will never meet and therefore can never grieve for properly. That's the only way to describe the emptiness you felt. And It's almost like when you know for 100% you will never have what you need most in your life, the hope dies. And so the emptiness goes and you grieve for the emptiness because at least that could keep a candle to hope, because if something is empty there's a chance it can be filled. (Don't even get me started on rules around fostering and adoption in the UK, is it any wonder children are falling through the cracks of children homes.)
