I remember my brother used to argue that Messi needed Iniesta and Xavi to get all his goals... and I used to counter his arguements by saying Messi didn't need Xavi and Iniesta to get his goals... they needed Messi to be relevant... thats why even at their peak... Messi used to have more assists than them... and sometimes more than their combined tally...

Bro the nostalgia is real with this one. I was watching Barca and Messi from earlier but that season I remember vividly every single goal of his. It was the peak of the Messi mania. Ahh we should never lose to Chelsea that year, I remember the reactions. It was way crazier than Real Madrid losing after 3 consecutive UCLs in 2019 because RM never reached that level of football and dominance. We had the player that did the most extraordinary things ever and we were the favorites going in every single UCL season. Good times even with the missed titles it was one of the greatest seasons ever.
