- A brawl on the London to Brighton Bike Ride 2013 - near Chipstead
Note: It is exceedingly unlikely that the two people involved were anything to do with the formal BHF Bike Ride. To reassure anyone looking to do this fantastic charity event, I do this ride every year - and it's the only time I've seen any trouble like this.
There's a great community spirit - and you can see that a number of genuine riders went to the aid of the other rider.

I'm so glad this brawl wasn't with people on the ride although it can happen most riders of good spirit and its a brilliant day for spectators also. These kids are trouble makers and unfortunately we just have to deal with them by ignoring them everyday until they become irrelevant

Google Maps shows the location of the "Brawl" as How Lane, Chipstead, toggle Street View travelling southbound from junction with B2023(Outwood lane), just past the 90º bend with the railway line and golf course on top left of map. A white Mercedes currier van "Wallington Cars and Curriers" can be seen on Google map directly in the vicinity and what looks like concrete markings on road surface and a circular drain cover can be identified on the video V1 ~ Shame this event was spoilt for someone.
That’s why I have always done the London to Brighton bike ride early in the morning to avoid the crush like this
Yep - I recall that this particular ride was fraught with minor delays and congestion. Thankfully, they seemed to have resolved many of those issues more recently. (NB: I have a 7am start this year :) )

@@eddyvideostar I can tell you what I did on board a packed 747 when a passenger mid flight started kicking off ( out of 500 people just myself another passenger fault with passenger) that was going Nutts we ended up handcuffing him and doing a emergency return to nearest airport ... so Try be a Man and do the right thing rather than be like 98% of the week limb people we have no in society

So to summarize the video:
One guy did a favor to many of his softies bike mates to take out the trash.

Tossers never even had race numbers, This was my 2nd year and both times there has been people joining the ride in the last 10 miles to get a medal.....

Doing some research on charity cycle rides and came across this. Interesting how the class issue comes up in the comments below. So many judgemental comments assuming the 2 young lads are in the wrong. No consideration they might have been ill-treated by others and so become upset and aggressive. But then in my previous experience most charity cycle rides are full of self-righteous prigs who bring their chunky legs and their chunky bikes out for a sunny day and a bit of ego-massaging. Judgemental? Moi?

I agree. They look like smashing lads, the type every father dreams will court his daughter some day. I bet they were entirely innocent and their behaviour beyond reproach. They just wanted to have a nice ride and a spliff and all those Lycra clad, middle class lunatics were there for some aggro.
