phantom singer is a korean singing contest to form a classical crossover groups. forestella was formed on and won season 2. one of the prizes for winning is headlining a concert tour but season 3's winners were crowned during the height of the covid lock down in korea when touring was impossible. so instead of a tour they got the 3 top teams from each season to do a friendly competition on the phantom singer all-stars show.

I was brought up in a house where Opera was played, and members of my family were professional Opera singers. I also heard the great vocals of The Drifters, The Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, The Three Tenors. And for me... THIS is vocal perfection. Piano accordian is often related to France AND Scotland.

“Je suis Malade” was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends.
Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations.

Lara Fabian - Je suis malade (From Lara with love, 2000, 1080p restored quality + subtitles)
is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.

We appreciate the advice Mana. Surprisingly, we haven't had any issues yet lol. We've never blurred or darkened a video before so not sure how everyone else would take it lol. We just feel like it takes away from the experience and some people might think we're doing it for the monetization lol. Most of our reactions are demonetized and we honestly don't mind it. If a video gets blocked we'll post it elsewhere on our socials lol
@@SimplyTwoDudes I'm a reaction fan. I've watched more than 2k reaction videos to Forestella and saw many videos which used JTBC videos got blocked, sometimes to everyone but often blocked only to Koreans..
Specifically Je suis malade and Time in a bottle video have no alternative version yet. I saw a reactioner saying he would never react to JTBC videos as he experienced copyright strike and blocks. It can risk bigger channels with many subscribers so reactioners might hesitate reacting to Forestella. I was being worried of that..

Forestella are amazing, but you really need to listen to the epic performance by Lara Fabian, she's delivered it quite differently and became one of the major influences and idols for Dimash...
Matter of taste-I'm not a fan of her version although there's no denying the talent.
i think she's cool She has great emotions too. But there's no need to compare her abilities. Lara and Forestella are completely different singers and have different emotions and vocal styles. That's it. Each one has a different personality. I prefer and like the Forestella version a lot, but this is just my taste in music. It's really stupid to compare their abilities by absolute standards. This is because their conditions are different. hey friend! Don't compare, just enjoy.😊

Lara is a native French singer, Forestella are Korean, and so on... It's a completely different level, not a better or worse one...
