You point out so many helpful things about the SG, I can see it is lighter by the way you pick it up. The Gibson SG has been on your AC/DC lessons in the past. Your custom set up on the Epiphone SG sounds great, thanks for the links to the pick ups.
For those that don't know, scratchy pots can sometimes be "fixed" by cleaning them. Dust collecting on them will cause them to get scratchy when you roll the knob.
I just got a Gibson SG 61 reissue 2 months ago. I’ve always struggled with SG’s but this one is balanced better than any SG’s I’ve played and it’s just the quintessential hard rock guitar.
Hello my friend from Wales (UK) Really enjoyed watching your SG video and listening to your thoughts on what is my favourite guitar. I've owned all of the main models and body shaped many times but I realised some years ago that it's always SG and SG style guitars that I return to and it's the model I've owned more than any other. Over the past year I've resisted spending £1,500 to £3,000 on a dream Gibson SG and been trying the current Epiphone inspired by models. I now owned and tried all of the high end epiphone sg's and have currently settled in an sg custom which is a very good all round guitar. Like most Epiphones it needs a bit of attention after shopping from the Chinese climate but it really is worth the time and effort. Not a pure rock screamer but fantastic for a classic blues and jazz. With a tube screamer im sure it can easily be pushed into face melting volumes and of course looking as good as any guitar can in its tuxedo colours and split diamond on the headstock. For a very good cheap SG style all round guitar (again in custom configuration) the Harley Benton DC 600 VI is very good and offers the classic custom three pickup and chunky neck of the original SG custom 😊
Man i just enearthed my 2005 SG special from being in storage for about 10 years, the strings were still in tune lol and it feels and plays great, sounds awesome too. I chose the special over the standard because of the wood, i fell in love with the wood feel on the back of the neck compared to the one of the standard. One day ill most likely get a standard too.
SGs rule. I've owned around 13 I think. They all sounded different but almost all of them sounded and played great. Still have one, a brown 2012. They vary in tone I think because of all the different trees that are classified as mahogany. The coolest guitar shape ever! Great guitar to learn on, and if you get a good one, to play professionally.
I know it’s a function of taste, and evolving taste, but that Epiphone SG is raw, rough, and rockin’. Makes the other two seem sophisticated and refined. I like them all. My Gibson SG has a wrap bridge, P90 pickups, and it’s gnarly!
I think the sg is friendlier to play than most guitars. I have a 2008 gibson standard and a gibson worn faded and an epiphone sg pro. All excellent. The epiphone is the bargain of the bunch. And besides, Angus Young cant be wrong. Thanks for a great down to earth video.
My only solidbody electric is a very plain Gibson SG, so plain that it’s stained instead of coated. The pickups are simple Gibson HBs with no chrome shield. I don’t know why anyone would need any more than that. The SG is a genius design with its neck-through-body and cutaways that give full access to flawless frets. My only regret - and I’m not really sure I truly regret it - is not getting a P90s instead of double-coils SG.
ich weiss schon warum mich deine Vibrato´s stark an Angus erinnern ;-) btw: long time no see! war schon länger nicht mehr aktiv auf deinem Channel unterwegs, leider fehlt mir bissl die Zeit fürs Gitarre-spielen...aufjedenfall schön dass du die Fahne hochhältst, fast 38k Abos- voll verdient, Respekt und weiter so! Viele Grüsse!
Still have yet to experience any neck dive on an SG type that I would consider to be a problem of any kind. Seems weird that this is still the #1 complaint or fear with SG's. Reminds me of the the one about Gibson headstocks breaking by just looking at them. Had a shovel headstock LP Custom for 30 years, 10 in which it was moved from stage to stage, falling from time to time onto concrete bar floors and yet still perfectly intact.
the SG g-400 in my opinion is YOUR guitar i can feel the ease when yu play it,i personally have an SG gibson Tribute 2019 i added a string butler to it to keep it more in tune and i fucking love it its my for life guitar:)
I've got two Gibsons : 1 LP 1SG Special (Pelham blue!😉👍) As much as I really like a lot about the SG.. The LP is the sound, the feel..the everything! And I'm all about having a nice neck heel joint (🚫 Fender!😡).. aswell as having upper fret access.. (LP!🤬) But at the end of it.. the SG , I feel like I'm constantly making excuses for, trying to convince myself I love it.. While the LP...and the superstrat, I don't have to try! I just love them, no effort! 🤷♂️
>^.^< I've got a Jay Turser JT-50 Custom (Black with all gold hardware n pickups), It was the 1st guitar that I bought back in 2004-2005! Rosewood body with a set maple neck. Luv my SG!!!!
HAY SR, I LOVE SG'S JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE ORIGINAL... NO OTHER GUITAR HAS THAT LOOK AND SOUND OR VERSATILITY. I GOT MY GRANDSON THE CAPITAN " KIRK DOUGLAS " SIGNATURE GUITAR FOR HIS BIRTHDAY 1 OR 2 YEARS AGO I THINK... IT'S THE SECOND RUN OF HIS SIGNITURE GUITARS, I GOT IT FROM TROGLYS. YOU CAN GO TO HIS SIGHT AND SEE IT. I ALSO GOT HIM A MEZA BOOGIE MARK V 35 COMBO TO GO ALONG WITH IT. WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THIS COMBO??? MAN, I WISH I HAD AN SG OF MY OWN. BUT RIGHT NOW I'M ALL TIED UP IN OTHER INDEVORS... STAY COOL MY BROTHER... PEACE... FROM CREEL CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO...

I just bought a Gibson SG standard last week. It was my dream guitar because I'm a huge ACDC and Black Sabbath. Totally love this Guitar.
🍻
Awesome!
Very Nice choices of modifications 👍🏼

I love it when tone is clean no dist.

Great sound and playing, thanks for showing the possibilities and a great way

I've had my '61 reissue for over 25 years ..a little oxidized on the metal parts....but still plays and sounds wonderful.🤘😎
Love my Gibson SG Tribute, versatility is great with this guitar and it's light and comfortable enough to play for many hours at a time.

Awesome video Sascha!! It’s very important to me, to know more technical aspects about guitars.
Thank you!
I have an Epiphone SG custom that I’ve had around 9-10 months, and love it.
Think i will grab my SG again these Days again.
It was my first Guitar and it was a used Epiphone.
Nice video. Love your SGs. Recently got sg standard, love it.
Thank you!

Habe mittlerweile auch einen deutschen Kanal ;)
@@SRguitar alles klar!
Love mine too
Your nice amp makes them all sound good. I really couldn't tell a difference between any of them.

Great vid mate. I definitely need to try an SG as well.
Thank you!
Can't wait to see the 4th SG 👌

Had the Gibson SG Standard and the Gibson SG 61 reissue. Sold them both. Just bought a Gibson Custom shop SG '64 Reissue.
I'm happy with my epiphone sg. I just wish I could play better.
great collection, almost impossible to tell you which one sounded best...... maybe the Maybach
I haven't seen yet any vids/shorts about Michael Schenker. I love this guitar player, I would like to know your opinion about him, thank you
I'd love to have an SG with split coils so it can double as a Tele.
I've got two Gibsons :
1 LP
1SG Special (Pelham blue!😉👍)

Could you do a review of the Harley Benton TE-70 Rosewood Deluxe? Would be really amazing
I feel like im super lucky that i have a Gibson SG with no deck dive! I had an SG bass and it had the worst neck dive ive ever experienced.
SG = Angus 🤙🏻😀
Is the Maybach your favorite? I hear nothing but great things and they always sound HUGE.
Yes it's my favorite :)
Sascha is a short version of name Alexander in Russia
I love SG’s Fun video.
Thanks!
>^.^< I've got a Jay Turser JT-50 Custom (Black with all gold hardware n pickups), It was the 1st guitar that I bought back in 2004-2005! Rosewood body with a set maple neck. Luv my SG!!!!
Hey Sascha! Nice collection 😊
Which Sunbear Set is that one in your SG standard?
Hey!
These are custom Sunbear PAFs, Bridge Alnico III 8.2k - Neck Alnico III 7.0k
Hope that helps :)
Welche SG hat den dicksten Hals?
Maybach
Disadvantage 2 brought back some high school trauma
The Epiphone surprised me ....
→ ..It looks like crap.😆... But it SOUNDS really fkn good!!😉👍
( The others, of course, both look & sound good.. 🤷♂️)
🔥🤘🏽🔥🍻
I like the body weight of sg s.
Me too!
I can’t stand the neck dive tho.
Yes, some people hate it. For me it was never a problem
Neck dive is a myth ! Get a good strap
I have a 2020 Epiphone SG and it doesn’t neck-dive at all tbh
Sounds great through a friedman
