The xMEMS technology uses less power than regular drivers and these earbuds have 10mm drivers for the bass and mids. Having Creative showcase this new tech is like having Skullcandy do it instead not the best choice. Noble is putting out a pair with xMEMS soon hopefully that will be a better product. Thanks for the review you're on a roll my friend. 👍🔥🔥🇺🇸
Thanks for another excellent video. I bought these and return them because the touch controls were almost totally inoperative and unusable. The volume level was very low. In transparent mode there was audible hum all the time. The sound quality was very good.
Thanks BJ! MTW3 do go louder and you can push out a more dynamic sound with the EQ. AZ80 I notice slightly better separation and sound stage. Super close though in overall quality
Glad to hear that you liked the sound quality 👌 I agree 100% that the ANC mode, transparency / battery and the app are not comparable to the top of the range. In any case, you placed them in fifth place, wow, I would say great placement because just before them there are the Momentum 3 and the Sony WF-1000x5 In my opinion Aurvana Ace 2 ⇨ great value 👍
Good to see some innovation in earbuds tech. Wondering if you are considering reviewing Huawei buds since you are reviewing some other phone manufacturers buds or are they not widely available where you live?
Yeah, should have guessed that if you don't get review units sent it must be a hassle to review everything you want. Do hope you get the chans to get some Huaweis in the future. I'm already a few buds in their ecosystem but I do think you'd like em and I do check up on your review whenever my buds itch starts itchin 😅
They struggle bad with wind noise like when i run it will leak theough easily unfortunately. If you bump the sound up it def helps a little but its gotta be almost maxed out basically
@@pickyaudio yeah def even with ANC on. I do hope their next model though adds all the features an they improve cause for the price the sound def great before I got my Denon perl pros an mw09 these were def my best sounding buds
I put my bucks down to buy these as the xMem drivers hold real promise and i wanted to give them a spin. I come from various types of buds but my last full time listen was the XM3 followed by the XM4. I held no preconception the Creative would replace the XM4 at half the price. I couldn't care less about noise cancelling (Snapdragon and ok but no more), or phone calls full disclosure, i'd do without both. For $229 in AU i dont expect miracles, included a $60 bluetooth speaker with it for effective price of $170, go figure. Sounded overbearing out the box. I thought oh no, not a wired 1More experience (the quad, it's lain in the drawer for a long time now, maybe with a lot of tuning but eh nah). But....a little tickle with Creative EQ to control the bass and pump the mid and high a fraction, and or USB AudioPP parametric on Android, or Audirvana through my Avantree. AptX HD on the phone AptX Adaptive on the Avantree. I wasn't disappointed at the lack of LDAC support while initially concerned from my XM4/LDAC combo, LDAC is not the only show in town. Minimal tickle focus on minimal boost mostly cut. And i just can't get these things out of my ears. Its the type of thing you feel like you're hearing your music from new all over again. The XM4 always sounded a little flabby in the bass department (tho disclaimer, no eq) while great elsewhere but not outstanding, but the Ace 2 is something else. I wouldn't call the Creative flat in the bass department some tracks will catch them out even with EQ, but i love these things from sub bass to the 15K my old hearing goes to. Stage, placement, vocals, placement, yes i said that twice...don't know about the missing sparkle, perhaps its just the limited Creative EQ. But i don't notice it, or dont listen to enough ladies. I don't care if they're called Creative, shiz i tell my kids if they don't like their Earfun's name, permanent marker will fix that, 'for the bucks' the Earfuns are great for them. These Creatives look good, sound good, get past the name. Remarkable things for cheap. Creative were just smart enough to grab these new tech drivers and bring them to the people before other brands with better perception pumped our pockets empty for a return that, to me, could only be marginally better in the way only audiophiles could fuss over. (ignoring noise cancelling and calls). I WAS distinctly worried it was just a bunch of reviewers saying they were good as they'd got free pairs in the mail, and seeing some of those reviewers on videos on Creatives site made me wary. Buy them and enjoy them, tell your friends they're whatever brand you wish . Ignore the name the ROI is good. Great tunes for the average listener and not a niche market. Selling them direct won't win them any false friends. I still have my XM3 and XM4. But for now, these can live, comfortably, in my ears, though i'm kinda inclined to find some alternative foam tips to try, but the unusual oval shape i might be waiting..
Any recommendations for office use? I basically want earbuds I can wear for a long time, but have great transparency mode so I can still hear people talking to me.
I like the data sheet you created. Maybe I'm biased I'll admit. I'm interested in how you are testing these and with if you have LDAC™ or low latency on your device. I'm interested because they're definitely capable of these settings. This is well advertised and I have these myself.
@Picky Audio Please get Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 on for a review, guys don't know about these, let's see how they compare to the rest. Love from Nairobi KE!
Calls are okay but they only work on the left side. If you accidentally pick up a phone call in any mode like ambient you are stuck in that mode till you hang out an switch it over then call back. That's part is pretty annoying. Especially in a cafe setting.
I had a pair of these. The mids and treble sounded really good, among the best I've heard but the bass was terrible imo. Really loose and muddy and ruined the overall sound of them. I also found them very uncomfortable and i was only able to get them to connect to the app once (i updated the firmware). I wouldn't recommend them. I do have a pair of soundpeats capsule3 pro+ coming though which I hope will be better at a lower price.

Cheers Mike! Yea the battery life was quite strange and I did test it as well and got just over 4 hours. Keen to try those Noble buds out then 👍
Uses less battery but they only last 6 hrs without anc..
Creative still exists as a brand?! 🤯
Yep still kicking on
Of course...they make amazing sound cards

I have been using it for two months, and the sound quality meets my expectations.
Another great Picky review 💯💪
