- Join host Ruari in this special guest interview with actor/singer/songwriter Justin Badger, best known for playing Bruno aka Vizor aka Antinomy in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and Fortuno in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. Justin is also the voice of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Season 2 theme song "Halfway to Forever". Justin recently reprised his role as Antinomy for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. In the interview they talk about how Justin got into voice acting, how Justin was originally cast as Bruno aka Vizor aka Antinomy in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, whether Justin was a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! or aware of its popularity prior to his casting, what Justin was told about the part of Bruno aka Vizor aka Antinomy when he was about to record his first scene as him, whether Justin was given a lot of freedom with deciding how Bruno aka Vizor aka Antinomy should be played or whether the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s crew already had it in their minds how they wanted him to be portrayed, the similarities that Justin sees between himself and Bruno, what Justin enjoyed the most about playing Antinomy, how Justin found out that the Yu-Gi-Oh! crew wanted him to reprise Antinomy for Duel Links, Justin's experience returning to voice Antinomy, whether it was challenging for Justin to reprise Antinomy having not voiced him in a number of years, whether Justin had any hesitation in returning to reprise Antinomy or whether he said yes right away, how Justin found working on Duel Links compared to working on 5D’s and ZEXAL, Justin talks about the process behind Antinomy having a gruffer voice for Duel Links than Vizor did in 5D's, whether Antinomy's gruffer villain/anti-hero like voice was something the Yu-Gi-Oh! crew or Justin wanted to do, Justin's thoughts on whether the decision to give Antinomy a gruffer voice in Duel Links was a nod to 5D’s like whether it was what Antinomy might have sounded like in the final episodes if they were dubbed, how Justin was cast as Fortuno in ZEXAL, the character between Bruno aka Vizor aka Antinomy and Fortuno Justin found the most challenging to voice and which one he enjoyed voicing the most, how Justin was hired to be the voice of and what he enjoyed the most about recording the Yu-Gi-Oh! Yep. Bruno, and Vizor and Antinomy, were all great parts of 5D's. A great character indeed. Hopefully we'll get to see more of Justin soon. Maybe we'll get to see him reprise more roles for Duel Links like Bruno and Fortuno, however unlikely the latter is. Haha

Wish that they would have covered the rest of 5DS so we could hear Bruno revealing himself as Antinomy to Yusei in english that would have been interesting
Indeed. Always been a shame that they didn't finish dubbing 5D's and GX. At least Duel Links gives us a lot of nice stuff though, like Justin reprising Antinomy for it.

Yeah, the "what Tech Genus are we on now?" was so real. I imagine a bunch of the actors have similar moments of confusion or lose track. Especially ones where their characters have so many cards in an archetype. lol

Yes, after our last comments on another video a while back I found new contact info for managers of his. Unfortunately, Greg has chosen to respectfully decline for the time being. We'll try again at some point as we'd love to interview him but right now we're focusing on other Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon interviews since he declined for now.

In regards to Marc Diraison, we'd love to interview him on the podcast. I'd been trying to contact him on social media for years since starting the podcast many years ago without success contacting him directly. He doesn't seem to be very active on social media.
Three years ago, I eventually was able to find out the talent agency that formerly represented him and one of their agents communicated with Marc after I sent them an interview request for him. Marc considers himself semi-retired at this stage and that he'll likely be very busy with work until he's retired, so isn't looking to take on new interviews as he doesn't think he'll become available for them.
I might try again at some point, especially after he just reprised Kalin again for Cross Duel, but I wouldn't get your hopes up, sorry. We'd love to interview Marc and Kalin's one of my favourite 5D's characters, but it's not likely unfortunately.
It's great that Marc is still reprising Kalin, and it's always fantastic to hear him as Kalin, but apparently he's also turning down some other reprisals due to his large workload. Like I said, I'd love to interview him, but it's not likely unfortunately.

i love these but as a tip before recording please test that your mic level is ok, rurari's mic is so much quieter than the guest's... or edit in post
Thanks for the kind words and advice. We do try to increase the mic levels where necessary sometimes but don't get it right all the time. We can definitely look into that even more in future interviews we upload.
Justin's interview was recorded last year on a microphone/headset combination I no longer use. I got a new mic/headset earlier this year, April-May ish, and Rick Adamson's interview was the last interview I did with that mic. The current mic/headset I use is a lot better so hopefully won't need as much tweaking on the levels but we'll definitely keep a closer eye on editing the levels in post in the future.

@@cleardude6992 Thanks for the kind words. In terms of the next Yu-Gi-Oh! interview we've recorded that we'll be editing I haven't really decided yet. The last three interviews we've uploaded have been Yu-Gi-Oh! interviews, as well as five of the last seven interviews uploaded, so we'll probably have a little break of at least the next two interviews not being Yu-Gi-Oh! related.
I'm thinking the next YGO interview we edit and upload will be Liza Kaplan who played Blair Flannigan and Missy in GX and reprised Blair for Duel Links. We're very excited to edit and upload that one. It was a great interview and it was Liza's first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! interview for anyone.
In terms of upcoming interviews we'll be recording, keep an eye on our new community tab where I've been posting updates of upcoming interviews we'll be recording. We should be recording at least one new Yu-Gi-Oh! interview soon.

@@cleardude6992 Thanks for the comment. We've been trying to interview him for many years and would love to talk to him. We spoke to his managers last year and they said he was politely declining at the time. We'll try again at some point as we'd love to do an interview with him.
Can you do Kerry Williams because she’s amazing as Rebecca Hawkins in Yugioh.
Hi Dwain, thanks for your comment. We'd love to interview Kerry Williams but she's hard to find good contact info for, and I'm not convinced some of the supposed info online is accurate. Supposedly she also goes by Elizabeth Tarpon according to some sites but I haven't been able to find anything useful from searching that name either.
Plus, the only supposed social media link I could find, via Google, is a Twitter account for a Kerry Williams actress BUT I'm pretty sure it's a different person. Even though the few images online searchable via Google of voice actress Kerry are quite old and it's hard to compare old pictures with new pictures, they don't look like the same person to me with VA Kerry and the Kerry Williams on Twitter.
According to some sites, including IMDB, she married a Christian Gil at some point. It's very possible she changed her name and that's why she's hard to find. I found a profile, not saying on which social media site, for a Kerry Williams Gil that I'm pretty sure is her as there's mutual voice actor connections, and sent that person an interview request but I haven't heard back yet.
I'll keep trying though as we'd love to interview her.
Great podcasts with Yugioh actors man, you should try and get David Moo AKA Panik, Sam Riegel/Arkana, Andrew Pauli/Umbra/Johnson, Jimmy Zoppi/Lumis Weevil, or David Willis who plays Rare Hunter Seeker, Hassleberry and Don Thousand etc if that's possible at all.

Thanks for the suggestions as well. On them:
1. We will be interviewing David Moo and Sam Riegel at some point. They've said yes but I need to follow up and schedule with them.
2. "Andrew Paull" is an alias for Christopher Collet. I've tried reaching out to him but no reply so far. Will try again at some point.
3. I did ask "Jimmy Zoppi" aka James Carter Cathcart a number of years ago but he wasn't available/too busy at the time. Unfortunately, James had to retire from voice acting this year due to an advanced form of throat cancer. We wish him all the best.
4. We did interview David Wills a number of years ago but we don't have an edited version on our UA-cam channel yet. I still hope to upload it at some point, but it needs some updates and fixes before it's uploaded. Namely multiple Yu-Gi-Oh! characters I mentioned in his introduction that it turned out later he didn't actually voice and were being incorrectly attributed to him on many sites. Lawton in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's for instance, voiced by Rick Adamson, who we've also recorded an interview with. Also, one of the ones you mentioned in Rare Hunter Seeker. Wills went onto Behind the Voice Actors himself to tell them he didn't voice Gozaburo Kaiba, who BTVA and many sites had been attributing to him. Since Seeker and Mr. Ishtar had the same voice as Gozaburo Kaiba, if he didn't voice one he didn't voice those two either, so most sites have stopped attributing them to David Wills. While not officially confirmed, there's another VA from the Yu-Gi-Oh! credits that is now being attributed with those roles, "Richard Will" (might be an alias as he's a mystery), as he voiced a character in a Sonic game with a similar voice. Not officially confirmed he voiced them as he's a mystery, but what is confirmed is that David Wills didn't voice them, and I know "Wills" and "Will" are very similar surnames, but Wills also confirmed on BTVA that he's never used "Richard Will" as an alias, so it's someone else.

I didn’t know that about Andrew Paulli thanks for letting me know. And wow the David Willis didn’t do Seeker or Gozabura wow damn,. I saw the name Richard Will I just guessed that was David damn. Whoever done those voices for Mr Ishtar, Seeker and Gozaburo were amazing one of my favourite voices in all of Yugioh. I would love to know the actors real name. Yeah, it was a big thing in the community when David Wills himself, I think it was around 2018/2019, went onto BTVA himself and confirmed he didn't voice Gozaburo, and by proxy Seeker and Mr. Ishtar too since they have the same voice. Pretty sure there's some comments from him on both his public page's comments section but also in the forums. Haven't looked in a while.
But yeah, I also remember in the forums Wills replied to some user saying he must be "Richard Will" that, while the surname is close, he'd never gone by that name, and that whenever he'd used an alias it was something very odd. "Wavy Chills" or something like that I think he used as an example.
Yeah, "Richard Will" is a mystery. Could be his real name or could be an alias. They're hard to find. I'd love to interview them but no idea who it is currently.

@@EverythingGeekPodCast You got any info on Priscilla Everett she was the original Alexis Rhodes voice and she done Akiza's mother and was in Capsule Monsters, she seemed to disappear off the face of the earth, also the guy who voiced Leichter Tom Souhrada. And Scott Rayeow who voice Anubis and Zane Truesdale? That's really interesting about Richard hopefully one day we can find out who the actor is lol, can't believe its been 20 plus years since 4Kids started dubbing Yugioh, those were great times. No prob the content is amazing.
@@alanchamberlain9902 Unfortunately, no idea on "Priscilla Everett", whether her real name or an alias. Still a mystery who she is. I don't believe she was Akiza's Mom though. The last time "Priscilla Everett" was actually in the cast credits of a YGO show was the first season of GX. Pretty sure "Anna Morrow", supposedly an alias for Christie Moreau, who replaced "Priscilla" as Alexis, was Akiza's Mom. "Anna Morrow", and she has been credited under other aliases like "Anna Moreau" too, has been on the cast credits of a lot of YGO productions. GX, 5D's, ZEXAL, ARC-V and reprised Alexis for multiple games including Duel Links, Cross Duel and Duel Terminal.
I e-mailed with Tom Souhrada a bit a few years ago. I sent an interview request and he replied asking for more information on the focus and what we'd be talking about. I replied with the info and followed up a couple of times later on but haven't heard back again. I''ll try again at some point. He most likely was very busy at the time. He primarily works in theatre now, I think.
I've tried for Scott Rayow ("Scottie Ray") without reply. Could be too busy or interviews just aren't for him. Who knows. I'd love to interview him though.
