In the middle of 2021, WMBF passed WPDE for second place in the news ratings for the Myrtle Beach market after being in third place for most of its first thirteen years. The latter station had been in second place since it began operations in late 1980 (aside from 1997-2004, when it was battling for first place with WBTW and managed to place first on a few occasions), but the ratings of that station began to decline after Sinclair acquired it. Sinclair gutted the station's news operation between 2015 and 2020.

WMBF’s 2021-now opens are the longest set of the video, with a time of 4 minutes and 14 seconds.😊 at least they didn’t change the graphics.
