- Tham Lod Cave is located in the Pang Mapha district of Mae Hong Son province in northern Thailand, and it's one of the country's most remarkable caves. The tour showcases gorgeous limestone stalactite formations and ancient coffins, but the real highlight is the bats and swifts that call this cave home.

Bats are amazing creatures, I love that you got to hear them INSIDE the cave. The cave environment definitely sculpts the sound into a more reverberated soundscape with layers and depth. I wonder what they would've sounded like had they come out of the cave for you... this is an incredible experience. Thanks for sharing Libby and Marcel!
There is another cave close by where bats are coming out very fast at night. We couldn't made but if you ever come to Thailand go to Cave Lodge and talk with John. He will tell you where.
Wow! I can't even imagine how cool that would be to see in person! I really love how well the bats were captured inside the cave, caves add a lot of very dynamic sound and reverb. and at the end of the day, bats are basically flying field recorders, listening to the sounds of the cave, so they can navigate haha. another awesome video, guys!

it would be fun if at the end of the year you did a summary of all the interrupted/disturbed (people whistling or asking questions etc.) audio recordings. i could probably do an hour of audio material where people ask me what i'm doing here and if i'm recording birds?! ;)
Wow! This is such a great Video again! I had been in a bat temple in Bali and the sound the bats made was soo loud and the smell was, let‘s say, intense. Glad, you cannot record this 🤣l

Oh ja das ist wirklich super. Wir hatten auch überlegt, einen Rekorder in der Höhle zu lassen und ihn am nächsten Morgen wieder einzusammeln. Aber leider mussten wir am nächsten Tag abreisen.

Fantastic film... I really like seeing the mic placement and hearing the sounds recorded. I would love to hear some comparisons of different stereo arrangements on the same sounds. For example DMS vs ORTF... My favourite at the moment is Franklin Array...

Thank you and did you hear any humidity issues in this video? If not, you got your answer ;). I also talked with Schoeps and you will be find until 96 percent. Humidity isn’t the issue. Condensation is.
Marcel when and why would you choose your Schoeps Ambience setup compared to the Rode NT SF1 Ambisonic? Does it pertain to the type of files needed by your customers vs the sound quality? Which setup do you think you might using more moving forward? This might be an idea for a future video. Thanks and keep up the great work. Phil
