    Hey Avi,
another great vid. Having a fixed end date is big drawback as data is always updating. And it's hard to know how far into the future to go, particularly when you hand over the Power BI model to another organisation that just wants to run updates. Any options for a dynamic end date?

You can ignore my previous question. I just refreshed and it all updated to 2022. Sweet!

    Hi Avi,
Your video tutorials on Power BI are quite helpful and helped me understood the basic concepts. In calendar auto date/time( first method) I am not able to see the hierarchy when I am dropping the order date field in rows well of the matrix visual. Time intelligence- Auto date/time option is checked under file ->options. Kindly help me understand why is this issue occuring ?

    Hi Avi!
I´ve been using the DAX Calendar option for a while. However, on the options you shared, the downside is that you need to manually update the date ranges. is there a benefit to do it in that way?
Additionally, I didn´t see either you turn the table into a date table. do you recommend to convert it into a date table?

Hello. I am a new powerbi user and am attempting to create a calendar based on a 4-4-5 fiscal year. For 2022 we have a start date of 1/1/2022 with end date of 12/30/2022, with our fiscal week being a Saturday thru Friday. As a result of these parameters, our fiscal month start/end dates do not align with the calendar months. For example, our fiscal March 2022 is a 5 week month that begins 2/26/22 and ends 4/1/22. This occurs many times this year in other months as well. how do we incorporate these parameters into our powerbi calendar so that it ends up assigning the month of "March" to the appropriate dates? I have also attempted to manually assign the month# and Name, but when trying to create new measures that uses any "Date" parameter, the graph errors out because the "column specified in the call to function is not a type DATE". I have watched your "3 easy ways to create..." and implemented the powerquery one into my test powerbi desktop file. I've searched high and low on the web and have not found anything. please help!

Hi Avi, how can I change the Ultimate Calender Table so that the week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday? It looks like it starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday for me.
Also in this video, you're linking the Date field from Calender Table to OrderDate field, which I understand and use myself, however I have an issue that for some things I want to use a different column, CreatedAtDate instead of OrderDate. I use the Date as a Slicer and changing the date always gives me the OrderDate values, is there a way to make it so the slicer changes some visuals by CreatedAtDate instead?

Great explanation. I already have a Calendar Dimension in my Data Model. some questions: 1- Is there a preference to using your ultimate calendar vs. a Dimension based calendar? 2-Is there a preferred method to creating the relationship between a single calendar object and 5 other objects that also have dates? 3-The reason is that I want to use a single calendar as the slicer but have that slicer drive the result set from other objects via the connected date relationship. Thoughts?

Hi Avi, Video was very helpful . I do have a unique situation. In my one data set or table I have all equipment numbers that are due in 2022 but no due date and in the result data set I have only 60% of equipment with work date. Now I want to create a slicer of due date and see all that were done in the year with work date but keep all other blank that were not done but without due date in the first data set how can I show that. Can you suggest.

    Hi Avi,
Thank you for your useful tips, however, when I tried to get the year only - results showed 1905. Eventhough my data is from 20218-2020. Would you please help me out. Thank you

I think the date values in your data only have years; You'll need to get it in full (day, month, year) as in dd/mm/yyyy

using the "UseRelationship" function in Power BI allows you to create a single calendar table and associate multiple date-based fields with that calendar.^RM

0:43 5:17 This is not the best tutorial around. Why cut the video on how you got the bold texts "Calendar Auto Date/Time" and "Calendar DAX" on top of the tables??🤔😏👎
