Steve Jones is so genuine that he sometimes kills a joke by answering it with logic or sincerity.
Autism.
Yeah, I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. Also the way and the place he grew up was a lot less showbiz and a lot more down to earth and "every man" than a lot of the musicians or celebs he interviews and/or associates with.
A guy like Alice Cooper is probably or quite possibly just as grounded and direct as Steve Jones but he also has a character/persona to play up to and a showbiz side that comes across as a bit cheesy around somebody like Jones.
I actually like Alice though and don't want to single him out because Steve does the same to everyone.
Jonesys jukebox is arguably the least pretentious interview show in history. I like him and will listen to every one he does.
Alice is such a nice guy and great character.
TWO great legends who never fail to entertain.

I first got into Alice Cooper at the age of ten . I was obsessed . Great to see Alice on the show Steve . Just been playing the spunk bootleg by the Sex Pistols . I like it as much as NMTB . Love the underwater sounds on submission and your guitar work is out of this world .

My older brother had "School's Out" Record with light blue paper looking undies around the record. Old USA albums we're all full of gimmicks like that at one stage. Record covers were great for looking at and wondering what the meaning was behind them.

Love The Coop. Love Steve Jones. Nothing revelatory here but a fun, great listen--complete with Cooper's penchant for name-dropping, changing stories, and hyperbole. But, in addition to the killer (pun intended) voice and music, that's why we love him.
And some of the comments here are hilarious. It's two old rockers shooting the shit not Meet The Press. Yeah, I always watch interviews with 50+ year old rockers with songs like "I Love the Dead" and "No Feelings" for important and deep political and social commentary. Yeesh!

He’s from Detroit and he used to be drinking buddies with Jim Morrison. But he quit drinking and saved himself. Jim did not. And he gave up drugs. He plays golf instead which is a lot healthier.

@Rob Foam Oh the band is tight in that clip, and Alice is still solid of course. i forgot how good that song, "Who do you think we are" is. i don't know who is in the band. i looked it up on wikipedia, and it looks like Davey Johnstone (Elton John's guitarist) played on the album, but i don't know if he was in that clip.

@@markrago7217 i looked it up, and Pinera was indeed on the "Special Forces" album, but Dick Wagner wasn't. He left after 1978's "From the Inside" album.
