In short, yes, this year was amazing! There were some problems with it, there are still problems with it, but overall, this year is better than last year, and a lot of massive improvements were added, as well as new game modes finally! A lot of people complain about DBD (which is understandable a lot of the times) but this is actually one of the only games that I see it's improving little by little
@Bohh219 To be fair, nearly every big gaming company, whether they're successful or failing, has had big layoffs over the last few years. Doesn't excuse BHVR or anyone else from laying off so many employees, but it isn't really indicative of how successful BHVR and DbD is, it's more of an issue with the gaming industry overhiring during COVID and wanting to increase profits by letting go employees they don't deem essential anymore.
I agree but they need to fix their source of balancing. Maybe get better statistics or add a ranked system. Many op killer builds are gatekept and secretly op without anyone knowing while theyre overnerfing killers like chucky
24:10 the biggest issue with 2v8 when it was first out was the maps being different for everyone, as in certain tiles that were loaded on your screen were not there on other people’s screens😭 I remember literally walking through walls and teleporting around because of it, also there was a huge bug where if you got caged you would teleport inside of a hook which made your teammates unable to unhook you! And sometimes the fences on the edge of the map wouldn’t load and you could get out of bounds

The problem I see with game modes being permanent is that normal dbd will be lost and like some ppl will lean on another side than another unless they do the blood point bonus
@@zoff.him1 Problem with BP bonus is if it doesn't push where people are actually needed. I think it was pretty good as someone that joined during Castlevania. But I think to be funny, you should do a match as Skull Merchant where you just walk around on your radar as if Skull Merchant’s done with everyone and decides that her “phone” is more worthwhile than actually doing her job and then see if you STILL get a 4 man DC.
Last year dbd kept everything in the sci-fi horror vibe. This year, I believe they went with dark fantasy, witchcraft and occult style, considering Castlevania, DnD and All things wicked. all things wicked was definitely the most exciting part of this year for me. the anticipation of that chapter and those first few days before and after it was released were the best!
I get why some peoppe wpuld DC against Merchant, but I find her more fun than a good number of killers to play against. A main example for me is Clown, who I find boring to play against, or Freddy/Bubba, as I always seem to get the more toxic varity of both. It also makes me mad that they always seem to DC when I am survivor.
We got two well written original killers, Dracula from castlevania, vecna from dnd, 2v8, and the FNaF chapter was announced. They truly did a pretty good job so far.
I will actually disagree on the shrine of secrets one. I’ve noticed that BHVR has been putting a lot more perks from the recent chapters into the shrine, which is nice as you usually had to wait months or years for those perks to appear in the shrine ONCE. I do think it’s still overpriced, especially since they reduced the price of many characters, but it is better than it has been.
1. Yes. I experience stutters and lag spikes almost every single game. It's gotten so bad in the last week that I'm on a mini break from DBD. 2. I had a Knight bug while playing him a couple months ago where a survivor got literally stuck inside of a locker mid guard chase. I could open the locker and it would do the normal open and slam animation. Another survivor could get inside the locker in front of the other survivor. And then get out and be grabbed as normal. It was the weirdest bug I've ever seen. Somehow about 5-10m later the bug stopped and the survivor was able to escape. 3. I loved playing against Skull Merchant pre this last nerf. And she was fun to play. The community really sucks the joy out of trap killers such as Trapper, Hag, or SM
this year genuinely has some of my favorite chapters (alan wake, castlevania, all things wicked, doomed course) so character-wise, it's been a huge dub for me and i'm so excited for 2025 because it also has a potential to be insanely huge with their licenses (i'm looking at you, fnaf)
(13:50) I thought the FPS stutters were only me and I was worried that my GPU was dying, I also have a strong pc. I’m glad it’s a game issue and not me, I hope it gets fixed soon.
I have only 3 issues with this past year: 1- They added Castlevania without a map. CASTLEvania... but NO MAP. 2- Frank Stone wasn't added. I know he's going to show up someday, but why not closer to his game's release? No. Instead we got the dog lady who is still currently on killswitch. 3-SBMMR is still a thing. Every year in this game where SBMMR is a thing is always going to be haunted by that system. Bonus - Lara Croft was added without her true iconic outfit. Which is odd considering Kate Denson has shorts but Lara Croft doesn't????
I played a little when Huntress released, but I started really playing and getting into to it during the Epic sale during Project W. This year felt like the year of fixing really obvious and annoying issues and generally a pretty good year for new mechanics and fixes. I stopped playing around the Singularity's release, and came back. But now the game feels entirely different, Modifiers, Gamemodes, Anti-Camp, bad Killers becoming (somewhat) usable, bad perks getting adjusted and going into the meta, the multitude of licenses, new menu's, and in general alot of new things that make DbD feel better. I'm hoping 2025 continues this trend and works on old mechanics/content.
I also too, will randomly freeze for a few or many seconds before resuming perfectly stable gameplay, I also have this issue with other Unreal Engine 5 games like fortnite and believe the issue is tied to the engine, very annoying.
I mean can you say that devs gave up with Skull Merchant when they literally never gave her any changes after the rework? No nerf, no buff, some minor quality of life changes but besides that, nothing, they didn't touch her which kinda makes me think that the rework was made fast to just not make her play chess but was not what they wanted so they just left her be until now. And ye, I have no idea why people still complain about Skill Merchant when she sucks so much after the gutting and all I wanted is just finally a 3rd trap killer with some stealth cause I like traps and how they make me feel smart when I get value and dumb when they completely fail, and some stealth, Hex Plaything my beloved bwaha
This year definitely was a good one, even with the questionable reworks/nerfs or buffs and balance over all but outside of that,it's the best so far. And next year is gonna be getting fnaf as well and the march license is 99% slender so it's only gonna get better
I agree it’s absurd to DC against skull merchant now because she sucks but I disagree on why people hated her before. It’s not that nobody knew the counter play. it’s that the counter play was stay at loop and get damaged/slowed or leave loop. Her counter play is still boring today it’s just not needed since she is so bad.
genuinely, i didnt see many complain about the stuttering. It happens to me too, often enough to be really bothering. I also have a strong pc that is more than capable of playing dbd at 120fps on max settings and same with you DBD is the only game i get these stutters on. Hope they get fixed soon since a lot of UE5 games have stutters that go unfixed
Regarding Sable's lore, I think it's meant to be a joke on those who are or want to be "different" leaning into the ironic trope. If it's genuine, then it is horrific, but sadly, we don't have confirmation.
I had forgotten about all those important changes in the game, like being able to change the FOV, I think it was a good year for DBD in general. About the game freezing, that happened to me too, I thought it was a problem with my PC.
Honestly I don’t really struggle with stuttering, I struggle with the game just literally crashing. The amount of times that I racked up DC penalties because the game crashed Is absurd and it’s extremely fucking annoying.
I thought it was the Steam Recording function that made the 1s random freezes, but now seeing that there's A LOT of people experiencing this too... DAMN!
As an epileptic myself, epilepsy has a lot more to it than many understand. Truthfully, I am not affected by the flashing like many people think, nor do I shake. It is way more complex than believed.
The only bad thing that happened in DBD this year is how BHVR basically admitted that Skull Merchant is their biggest failure and she is beyond saving by basically nerfed her to the ground just so people wouldn't play her.
@@freezerounds to gutted her again? No thank you my child is going through enough. She need to settle down cuz survivors maun are whinny bitches that dont want killer to have anything
I only started playing the game like a month ago and I have not had any stuttering at all. I've heard about issues with a new Windows 11 update causing stutters in a variety of games tho. Maybe this is related? Just an idea.
you know i get your videos recommended to me so often i thought i was subbed but apparently not, there ya go. The community entitlement thing is something i 100% agree with you on. It's gotten so bad lately that its kinda unfun, and i dislike that i cant play characters that i wanna play without survivors being little entitled babies refusing to learn counterplay mechanics. Skull merchant was fine, she was gutted because her high kill rate due to survivors being babies sacrificing themselves on hook not wanting to deal with her. The only thing they needed to rework was the haste on detection. the only thing needed was what she has now for her haste, everything else was unwarrented. It also set a precedent that is concerning for the future of the game too as it has happened with Twins, SM and Houndmaster, and thats this kicking the can down the road mentality they have as of late. Twins just recieved QoL changes, which imo puts them in a decent spot now, but iirc they said they will look at them later, they gutted SM because she needs a fix but refused to fix her properly because they are promising a rework in the next 8 years probably (overexageration obv), and they giga buffed houndmaster because they were going on vacation and didnt wanna leave her in a terrible state, because people just bought her and they didnt want to have backlash from people that just bought her happing because of a kill switch. This precedent they have set is quite concerning, and its not the first time its happened, it happened with freddy all those years ago. they left him a terrible state until his rework with the micro sleep stuff. I'm hoping they dont keep doing stuff like this, as its not good for game health.
Honestly, I had some big issues with how they handled the technical side of the game and some buffs and nerfs, alongside the whole layoff shit, but content wise we had it quite good this year, except for houndmaster release. Now, the wait for fnaf is gonna be even shorter 👀.
I'm on a Mac, so I use my Steam account through GeForce. I do get a little stuttering, but not super bad. The problems I more run into is the GeForce server having connection issues. I do want to add that as a Pig Main, I'm pretty happy with her buffs. It didn't change much of how I play her, but it added a few more bonuses. In regard to the Vecna level, it's more Borgo. Works for me since I main Meg as survivor (Pig-Meg!) and the bush-tech game on this map is strong.
they have tried to combat 3 of the most annoying thongs in dbd. 3 gens, camping, and tunneling. they all still exist to sone degree of course, but I find it great that they are finally trying to address these in the first place. I've noticed a lot of good progression, while it's not perfect (looking at skull merchants dead body) I think it's good that they're finally trying. yknow. 8 or sonething years later
14:30 I have the same issues but with FORTNITE. My fix was to lower the graphics settings and now the freezes occure like ONCE in 20 matches and then only for half of a second... Hope this helps.
All Things Wicked, being the scariest chapter we got in a long time waaas great. I wonder what original chapter in the future will live up to this one.
I dont understand what the big deal with the FOV slider is. Theres literally no difference in-game, and when you show the before and after side by side, they are identical.
I'm not exactly a Alan Wake fan, but i started playing the first game, and i'm wondering how didn't the devs make a perk that heals in a place where a generator got finished. It would be lore accurate and perhaps a good healing alternative
One of the features they should add is add ons, items and offering conversion to bloodpoints, there are too many things I don't want to have but can't avoid or they're now old and no longer work.
God this game is weird, but we all love it, thank you BeHaviour for the horrors, laughs, suprises and weird stuff you introduced to us during 2024, lets looks forward to 2025 for FNAF colab and much more! ✨🔥🥳

I do think it’s still overpriced, especially since they reduced the price of many characters, but it is better than it has been.
We need more Indoor Maps
I have only 3 issues with this past year:
1- They added Castlevania without a map.
The Freddy rework will be the most important
Chaos shuffle is life.
I also too, will randomly freeze for a few or many seconds before resuming perfectly stable gameplay, I also have this issue with other Unreal Engine 5 games like fortnite and believe the issue is tied to the engine, very annoying.
Wake up (imaginary) babe new MintSkull video
Have a good new year mint, hope u keep making nice content
genuinely, i didnt see many complain about the stuttering. It happens to me too, often enough to be really bothering. I also have a strong pc that is more than capable of playing dbd at 120fps on max settings and same with you DBD is the only game i get these stutters on. Hope they get fixed soon since a lot of UE5 games have stutters that go unfixed
I’m hyped for next year.
Regarding Sable's lore, I think it's meant to be a joke on those who are or want to be "different" leaning into the ironic trope. If it's genuine, then it is horrific, but sadly, we don't have confirmation.
I really hope it is but looking at the DBD community I’m leaning towards someone writing down the lore and going “wow this is some good stuff”
It's so cool watching back all the things we went through this year, thank you for making this video!
About the lags at the patch when they switched to UE5, I remember I never experienced this issue
I honestly am happy Chucky got nerfed but honestly I think they over buffed the singularity, he feels pretty boring to play against.
Mirrored illusion is NOT a good perk, but it is a FUN perk
I thought it was the Steam Recording function that made the 1s random freezes, but now seeing that there's A LOT of people experiencing this too...
DAMN!
I want more love for Baermar, I honestly love him. Wish he was a tiefling tho.
Beyond saving? *That* they did not admit, seeing as they literally announced yet another rework for her.
I'm hoping they dont keep doing stuff like this, as its not good for game health.
ace visconti
Visconti ace
Vvace Vvisconti
The unreal engine 5 update ruined performance for me. Before, the game was very stable but now, microstutters are always happening in the game.
Honestly, I had some big issues with how they handled the technical side of the game and some buffs and nerfs, alongside the whole layoff shit, but content wise we had it quite good this year, except for houndmaster release.
Now, the wait for fnaf is gonna be even shorter 👀.
people like to forget that Alan Wake inspired nearly the entire gameplay loop of the game for the survivors
You forgot about dbdmobile 😢
I'm on a Mac, so I use my Steam account through GeForce. I do get a little stuttering, but not super bad. The problems I more run into is the GeForce server having connection issues. I do want to add that as a Pig Main, I'm pretty happy with her buffs. It didn't change much of how I play her, but it added a few more bonuses.
In regard to the Vecna level, it's more Borgo. Works for me since I main Meg as survivor (Pig-Meg!) and the bush-tech game on this map is strong.
The only game stuttering I get is usually at the very start of the match for the first match I'm on for the day
dont forget the singularity quality of life changes this year were my favorite
0:01 Massive you say? You know what else is massive? The amount of licensed chapters for DBD in 2025
7:51 - I agree with that. All Things Wicked is the best original chapter in my opinion.
they have tried to combat 3 of the most annoying thongs in dbd. 3 gens, camping, and tunneling. they all still exist to sone degree of course, but I find it great that they are finally trying to address these in the first place. I've noticed a lot of good progression, while it's not perfect (looking at skull merchants dead body) I think it's good that they're finally trying. yknow. 8 or sonething years later
you know skull merchant is bad when one of the only times I've played against her since the nerf was just her running in circles the whole game
SCOOOTTTLAAANDDDD FOOORREEEEVVVVERRRRR
14:30 I have the same issues but with FORTNITE. My fix was to lower the graphics settings and now the freezes occure like ONCE in 20 matches and then only for half of a second... Hope this helps.
16:53 Hey, as the only existing Baermar main I completely understand
All Things Wicked, being the scariest chapter we got in a long time waaas great. I wonder what original chapter in the future will live up to this one.
I would say the FOV slider while useful, still looks super unpolished. The skins of the killer break and the audio gets out of synced to your FOV
As a singularity and skull merchant enjoyer, their reworks were simultaneously the best and worst parts of the year
The highest skill killer vs lowest skill killer
Thanks for letting me know
I dont understand what the big deal with the FOV slider is.
Theres literally no difference in-game, and when you show the before and after side by side, they are identical.
have you tried opening your eyes when you play the game
I feel like you are watching a different video.
I'm not exactly a Alan Wake fan, but i started playing the first game, and i'm wondering how didn't the devs make a perk that heals in a place where a generator got finished. It would be lore accurate and perhaps a good healing alternative
I bet that 2025 will be the best year for DBD than 2024.
One of the features they should add is add ons, items and offering conversion to bloodpoints, there are too many things I don't want to have but can't avoid or they're now old and no longer work.
The Lich is so cool. It seems hes not a very popular killer in other regions, but my region NA West has so many! I swear i play against him 1/5 games!
Man talks about Dracula being top 5, but not the clear, over high kill rate, 4 powers in 1, vecna. Wild
God this game is weird, but we all love it, thank you BeHaviour for the horrors, laughs, suprises and weird stuff you introduced to us during 2024, lets looks forward to 2025 for FNAF colab and much more! ✨🔥🥳
I bet Behaviour will make skull merchant playable if you manage to say "skull" instead of "school"
finally someone how say the truth about skull merchant because i'm really sad to see how dev destroy this killer because of some dude dosen't understand her i really think bubba or trickster is WORST
if you like licensed chapters it a great year and same for next year
if you like og chapters, quality of life fixes, reworking the hillbilly (after asking him not to get the over heat mechanics) and fixes to barely played killers when there are much more overplayed killers that need reworks and more
then no
this was the year they decided solo survivors should have a sub 40% winrate so im going to say no, this year was terrible.
You are definitely a solo q sable/mikaela that gives up on hook everytime
Compared to last year this year was a massive improvement as much as people complain the deva were listening this year
Imma be honest saying that Greenville square is well balanced is hilarious asf
WAIT WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE THE FOV?
BHVR ruined my killer (Chucky) to the point where I lost the interest in playing the game at all, so no, it was not good year for me :)
This is the first year imo where no chapter was horrendous and a complete failure
Pretty sure the most recent chapter bombed hard.
@RemyMa88 It wasn't perfect but it definitely didn't bomb hard as the killer was just buggy. She was actually super fun to play as + the survivor was amazing
A new day of Minty Skull! :D
KILLERS went on next level Crying Mode, every test in DbD is worst than previous
And every time they cried they got their way. And it’s never gonna change.
the fov "slider" just moves the camera back
The unknown became my favorit killer
U are so right about the chapter pure cinema
