Must we Shave a New Born Baby's Hair or can we Trim it?

Salamou alaikoum. Is the shaving of a newborn sunna or fard ? I thought it was something cultural and only in some regions of the world.

I believe its sunnah. Mostly recommended but nevertheless Sunnah
