Is it weird that I continue to watch and love these videos even though I never play the game? Yes? Well, okay, I'm weird. I still love these videos and when I do play, I'll be an expert. Thank you for continuing to provide entertaining and valuable content!
One special thing about this video has taught me is to match production with belt speed. I know you talk about this In the science masterclass but I don't really get it. This one is simpler and easier to understand though haha This is a very important concept, I like it Nilaus! Keep it up with the master class!
Great video, I really liked the way you explained the principals of how it's designed and seeing it built in the stages (and not just based on blueprints). Thanks!
Thank you for explaining and showing step by step how and why to build this setup. My plastic has been struggling but now I know how to fix it. I'm loving the Master Class videos and learning a lot.
Very nice upgrading from the yellow to red belts. When I get into blue belts, I'll come back and refer to the rest of this video as an education tool as well. Thanks!!
why lane balance on both sides? what benefit does that have over combining 2 half lane belts with a splitter? edit: I kept watching the video and now I realize you need to lane balance both sides because the final version outputs 2 belts instead of one. The way you use inserters to lane balance rather than a splitter is really elegant!
Great Blueprints! Was waiting for these since the coal liquification build. Btw. to you guys watching this on UA-cam: It is really exciting to watch the workshop streams on Twitch where these Blueprints get developed ;)
Hello, I have an issue with this blueprint (and with biuldings and piping in general). There is a T shaped intersection between chemical plants - from underground pipes which is also T shaped intersection. Which makes H shaped instersection, ok :). Problem is, that SOME, not all, chemical factories will always disconnectm from that T between them, so only one from that pair will stay connected. T will change into L. When I delete that plant and place it back, it will turn into T, which I want, until I set production or connect it to the electrical grid. In short, piping will remain in T only if it's not currently producing.
an idea for a masterclass: all builds with beacons (but not the 12 beacon per building) for megabases but in the same time as UPS friendly as possible, so direct insertion etc, all the tricks. Because thats something rarely found online.
Awesome. Tonight I want to rebuilt my modules - I hate the (starter) setup I have now... bad timing I guess, no module built so far in this series from you. Does anyone recommend a good midgame Module built that can be expanded into lategame?
factorioprints.com/view/-L2vf5RR1laceC7w4pm7 i use this, then later on replace the belts with requester chests when my bots are more readily available and i can keep up with it.
Plot twist: I reworked my modules setup. And now I have not enough plastic (for red circuits) . So now I will use your plastic blueprint. Thanks Nilaus ;)
@@justinborriello5740 thanks, I ust finished my rebuild 10 minutes ago. I knew this blueprint, but did not like the shape / doesn´t fit well in my bus. I found another one that works very well and fits perfectly: factorioprints.com/view/-LGkjbw0PFEJPPjh01Wh
Really came here for the fully beaconed, late-game build which isn't in this video unfortunately. The mid-to-late game builds are clean and smart though.
I don't understand I'm having problems with my petroleum when I have more than 4 chemical plants. Do I just not have enough refineries? Am I missing some piece to this puzzle? Are you using anything other than pipes / underground pipes for moving the petroleum around? thanks, a drunk a idiot haha
Hello! I am a new player and I’m having trouble getting a water pump to work. Ive placed it as close to water as I can, I’ve rotated it, and it won’t pump water. I’ve got my 1st pump going and generating power. Now I want to make sulfur crystals. I’ve got the petroleum being made and I’ve got an excess of plastic.
@@juliankirby9880 Yup, I'm pretty excited. It'll lead me to red circuits which will lead to chemical science which will lead to the tank. Can't wait to run over some biter nests lol.
Just a quick question: I know u won't even consider bot builds, but all these setups seems mid-game for me. Are you planning on doing late game 12b builds?
I haven't tested it but in my brain it works. There is an easy fix for actual 100% compressed output belts. Instead of facing the intermediate belts (the ones that are fed by the blue outserters) into the output line, replace them with undergrounds facing to the left, and then merge them into the main line. Edit: This would only work with red/blue undergrounds because rhe gap is 5 tiles.

In my 1000+ hours of factorio, I have never thought to rotate the chemical plants sideways. Always inspirational design. Thanks!
i have 1500 hours _ and never tought of that too
I agree, it helps with the placement of inserters so much. No longer blocked by pipes in the back.

i love your blueprints! they are perfect ratioed (if thats even a word), not too complex and simply magnificent!
thx for your prints

Thanks!!
It's the keeping the petroleum running that trips me up with plastics.
Thanks for also mentioning Max Calculator mod and how to use it!
Love these! Id love it even more if we had one on base planning or trains
they are coming
extremely cool, Idk how long it would take to win the game with all ur blueprints but It would definitely beat my record!
Sadly all my bps got deleted again when i went back versions :p
They are outserters from the machine; but inserters onto the belt :)
awesome video as always!! you've been killing it with the content lately, loving it
Thank you. It is great to see the effort being appreciated

Such a great series! Thank you!
Nilaus, u are the best. Thank you for all videos.
Love you videos man. Great work. Thanks.
Very much appreciated. Thank you and keep up the great content.
good video and ideas, but im trying to figure out how to get enough oil to produce that much
Do you have something on how you get efficient crude oil extraction?
You made a mistake with the links. The blueprint link is to your coal liquifaction build
Fixed: pastebin.com/PHqfMA3f
@@Nilaus Actually that's also not the correct one, the plastics build is different
woulnd it be easier to just use speed modules than productivity? than you are using the full belt of coal and output 2 belts of plastic
Why not make blue inserters insert into splitters?

It is planned, but i want the early mid game covered before giing into megabase builds
When I saw you kept 3 tiles of vertical gap between plants I was like 'boo not compact' and then beacons snap right in lol
could the blue inserters insert into spliters to balance the belt without need to insert to both sides?
u are awesome man

So I need 150 petroleum gas per second for yellow belt?
How are you using the combinator to show I/O? It looks like it isn't attached to anything and the video skipped the steps of attaching it?
I just added it manually to make the blueprint easier to read
Very good, now I can deal with the petroleum clogging my O I L spaghetti

Are you sure you're using the Offshore Pumps? Because regular pumps won't work with water.
@@perfectlybalancedasallthin9319 it took me awhile but I figured out that was my problem. My 1st base was wiped out by biters. I am less terrible now.

Would it compress/fill the gaps a little bit better if we made the whole unloading belt into undergrounds?
Every inserter is already compressing on unload as of 0.18 update. Only way to close the gaps is by not using belts and using logistic system instead.
Nice and compact
I don’t like productivity modules is that normal?
You can play as you like, but not using productivity modules is strictly inferior

so fancy
I never knew inserters could reach over eachother.
Yes, and also through/past power poles, too. It's counterintuitive, but so is walking around with a nuclear reactor in my backpack :)
I wish I could make me build at the right ratio :-)
wow, we can rotate chemical
without showing oil refineries this is kinda useless.... or half done
I was thinking how tf do I fit 54 refineries to feed the chemical plants

I feel like such a cheater watching the vids and dnowloading the recipes.
