    Dear Dr London, thank you so much for all of your videos. So enjoyable and informative. I look forward to them now each day. I’ve been retired for almost ten years and cook whole foods from breakfast to dinner. Neither my husband nor I have high blood pressure or other cardiovascular issues, though everyone in both of our families are on medications. Of course we exercise too which is probably a big factor. I’ve come to realize that saying anything to our siblings falls on deaf ears. They continue to eat fried foods and desserts and get higher doses of statins and BP meds and wonder why their ct scans show plaque buildup. After watching my father have bypass surgery and strokes, I’m too scared not to at least make an effort. Keep doing your wonderful videos and perhaps you will change life styles and, consequently, quality of life for many in addition to your incredible skills as a cardiac surgeon. Best to you and your family and the cutie dog!

      agreed!! I spent 4 days watching my Brother in law take a handful of pills for various ailments.. then eating all the garbage foods. He is diabetic, and continues with all the snacks and ice cream daily, bemoaning his health issues. I gave him a book on Diabetes.. I am sure that he never read it. Probably threw it in the trash.

    This is why I decided to follow this Dr. So happy to finally find a Dr. who knows that eating grass with no meat and zero processed food is not sustainable. Like, eat grass all you want, you’re still going to die! I see super athletes and diet gurus dying like flies! Fasting and moderation is the key. Thank God I have had the fasting habit for years and have divine health from God, because Jesus teaches that in the Bible. Give your life to Jesus everyone and the Holy Spirit will come inside you and teach you all things through the Bible. Thanks Dr!👏🏽🙏🏾❤️

    What is often described as "the Mediterranean diet" is kind of deceptive. Firstly, depends which part of the Mediterranean. Starting at Greece and heading east and south across north Africa to Morocco, you do not have "lean meats". You have lamb. High in fat. This is not common, of course, in Italy, France, Spain, which is probably what is REALLY meant by Mediterranean diet. However, in both parts of the Mediterranean, north and south, you have huge amounts of refined flour ---- bread, pasta, pizza, couscous --- which is usually not endorsed by the gurus of the "Mediterranean diet."
    So they really just need to specify --- lean meats, fish, veg, fruits and olive oil.

    We don’t eat as much avocado oil here in Greece. I personally use olive pit oil for sautéing and for all the rest like salads and such I use extra virgin olive oil. For bread we mostly eat sourdough bread as well as other fermented products. We are blessed with a volcanic soil high in nutrients so yeah our produce is top of of the line especially tomatoes and local greens. We also eat plenty of Greek strained yogurt with Greek honey which is our dessert of choice . Last but not least at gatherings and BBQs we eat lamb and goat as for us this is the leanest meat we have and because it’s out in the wild it eats better than a chicken would. For omegas we have plenty of sardines and other local small fish. We also eat avocados. Not forgetting the local legumes that we have at least once a week. I guess the basis for most people buying produce here is to buy what’s in season. Oh and we don’t eat as much processed food as we tend to cook at home more.

The cardiologist said my symptoms are atypical, most of the chest pain is top of the chest radiated to right arm and back. Currently I am taking losarten in the morning carvedilol twice a day and isosorbide once. I put myself on some supplements as well (k2,coq10, krill oil) my blood pressure is normal sometimes runs low 110/60 still having the issues though. Great haul . Pay now or pay later . Expensive to eat from whole pay check . The veggies aren’t always the freshest so maybe not very nutrient dense…. Grow your own if you can .

    I love following your journey. I hate to say this, but I think you are eating way too many carbs for your situation. You might want to monitor your blood glucose to ensure you're not having blood sugar spikes throughout the day. You may also want to consider a whole food keto diet or a low carb, higher healthy fats way of eating. You may have to give up the starchy carbs and tropical fruits. And I'd suggest having your A1C checked--if it's in the very low 5's, then maybe you are doing ok!

    I’d love a video tackling the subject of eating foods (primarily thinking about red meat) that have higher saturated fat and cholesterol, and the impact on heart health. Plenty of reputable sources say this “war on saturated fat” theory starting from the 50’s and 60’s is highly flawed/misunderstood and has been harmful in pushing people away from whole foods towards processed carbohydrates

  • @tg_ny
    @tg_ny Місяць тому

    Yep. All the items on the doctor’s kitchen counter come from a small portion of any grocery store. The rest of the isles, except for the frozen vegetables, are all highly processed, or contain high fructose corn syrup (it was cane sugar when I was growing up), with some of the food actually engineered to be addictive. Even the dairy isle has creamers they sell for coffee which all look pretty scary to me in terms of their ingredients.
    Want to see why our country has a diabetes and an obesity problem? Go to a dollar store or 5 Below and walk the isles to see what is sold there. That would give any cardiologist a heart attack. But that’s where the teens go; you don’t see them in the produce isle at the grocery store. And the stuff sold in those stores is in snack form, so the teens end up hitting it all day. The food industry has really become profit driven and messed up over my lifetime. The decay started slowly in the 70’s and has continued to rapidly deteriorate. We have also trained most age groups, with our busy lifestyles, that all food be available fast, hence the explosion in drive thrus. Even the busy professional making a good salary will hit the drive thru for breakfast on the way to work. Making a healthy meal really does take some time.
