    I loved this video! thank you so much for breaking it down and showing how it all works. I am really interested in Simply Charlotte Mason, but there arent too many videos on UA-cam about it. Also we read Out of Darkness this year and loved it! The books look awesome

    Thank you I love this. So for the book list for 4t through 6th or any of the groups, do the kids read every book on that list or just pick a few ? Thanks so much

    Would love updated videos 😊 are you still using SCM?

    We're also using SCM next school year but I let my boys choose which time period to start in (since it's our first time home schooling I wanted to give them something to look forward to) and they chose, "Matthew through Acts & Ancient Rome." We haven't ordered the books yet but I was looking at the "required" books and one thing listed that you didn't mention was the, "Visits To.." journals. Do you not use them? Do you do the Book of the Centuries? Would you share the boy's books? If they want to share them, I'd love to see one filled out!

      SarDee Bee Hi! I didn’t mention the Visits notebooks because this video was just the history portions of the lesson plan book! I didn’t include Bible and Geography...I’m doing separate vids for those! But yes, we’ve used the Visits notebooks every year! The book selections in them are great!

    I have another question. LOL. When choosing enrichment for music and picture study does it matter which we choose? We are using Joshua- Through Malachi Ancient Greece.

      Michelle Channell I try to somewhat line them up with the time period we’re studying but with ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome I chose the earliest artists she offers and worked my way forward. I just chose my composers based ones I loved but as the timeline progressed, like mentioned, I try to match them up with where we’re at in history!

    When you start with genesis-deutoronomy do you need stories of america or the nations one? Or do they start at a certain point along the timeline of curriculum? When do you need those books? They are not on the booklist for for 1st book gen-deut. I love your videos. You are a girl who doesn't mess around but is down to earth at the same time. I love that!

      Gideon's Army Hi there! You’ll need Stories of America and Story of the Nations (both volume 1) when you start Early Modern Times. Then Modern Times you need both books but in volume 2! Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your comment! 💛

      Okay great! Thanks! And you're welcome.
      Another question.. We are transitioning to scm for history and what makes me hesitant is feeling like my 6th grader won't have a good balance of american history modern and biblical history. He won't get the american stories until 10th grade and I can't tell from looking how it's laid out. It looks like mostly biblical history (which is important) mostly up until modern times. Do you feel like it has offered a good variety or balance of American history? I'm hoping to go with this but our state requires american history and I don't want to feel like I have to make up a curriculum until we get to modern times. TIA!

    Is this something a Highschooler could do independently? The early American history ? Thanks

    • @jilliana4701
      @jilliana4701 Рік тому

      I don't have highschoolers yet, but I've used the history. Highschoolers could easily do this on their own. The schedule is in the book along with what is being read each term. The daily schedule makes it easy and very open and go.

    I'm in LOVE with your doggo! How do you get anything done with that scene stealer?!
    Thank you for the review. I'm new to CM, looking into Ambleside Online and SCM, and completely overwhelmed! Like, HOW do you get it all done? I've got a hands-on, science and tech-loving, slow reader/writer. Yet I want to expose her to all the wonderful literature, instead of textbook history!

    I have a question. This year 2019-2020 is my first year homeschooling, and I am using Abeka curriculum and they used a lot of quizes and test. This CM method use quizzes or test?

    Thanks for sharing this! I have been drawn to this but couldn't quite wrap my brain around a 6yr history cycle. It seems like such a commitment. Do you think the Stories of America/Nations would be good as stand alone books to read with my children, even if I didn't use SCM history? Did you include any American history before you started Early a Modern?

    • @beccadoo1121
      @beccadoo1121  6 років тому +3

      Brandi Deffendall Yes! Definitely worth reading as stand alone books, Brandi! We’ve kept with the timeline so this was our first year to introduce American history. We’ll be studying American history next year as well with the Modern Times timeline curriculum and then after that I’m not 100% what we’ll do, but I’ll definitely include AH in addition to whatever else we decide to do timeline wise!

      I was curious if the Middle ages book talked about Leif Erikson or any native history.

    • @username00009

      @@kristenheuer5676 Leif is very briefly covered in Stories of America Vol. 1, but I’m not sure about the Middle Ages books.
