- Pitt got the job done at home against No. 25 North Carolina, 76-74. Pitt was led by a monster scoring effort from Jamarius Burton, who had 31 points on 14-17 shooting and willed the Panthers to keep things close when it looked like the Tar Heels would pull away. Pitt’s defense closed out the game beautifully, holding Carolina without a field goal for almost the full final 6 minutes of the game as the Panthers moved to 3-0 in conference play. For The Heels, Armando Bacot had 22 points and 13 rebounds.
That’s a solid Pitt team they’re gonna be a problem in the ACC H2p!!

Brady added tremendous ENERGY. He was a leader. He could shoot a 3 quicker than I have ever seen. He was a huge part on UNC's success last year. There is no leader on this team. It certainly isn't the "soft" coach.

It's always somebody they forget to cover all night, and they have a phenomenal game and don't miss shots and that player prob won't play as good the rest of the year.

As a Pitt fan. --- I said prior to Vandy game, if Pitt wins a 3rd road game against a Power 5 team, I will start thinking NIT. Then we lose at buzzer. Now, at 10-4, 3-0 win vs UNC. I think NIT is in reach. Our ACC schedule is really tough though, especially next few games(Duke, Va) and hopefully doesn't demoralize the team. I feel if we go 7-10 rest of way for 10-10 ACC record and maybe 1-2 solid wins in there for a 17-14 record, we can get an NIT bid. If we go 10-7 rest of way with some road wins and ranked wins, dare I say we get a look for NCAA bid at 20-11? For now, I shall think NIT only and be happy.
I’m thinking a little more broad, coaching as well as talent are proving that we may be capable of more. Nelly Cummings is a great facilitator and we have some decent shooters the candy game was a let down but they could have won that if we stay the course don’t be surprised if we are in the upper half of the ACC

@@DaShap as a unc fan this team has the talent to be top 10 in the country. we’ve struggled with everyone. but to say the least nobody looked at us as a threat they seen us as a target. once we lost those 1st couple games it stayed because we lost to teams that shouldnt have but to say the least we’re not gonna be a top team in the acc and yall started 3-0 and as long as yall keep that momentum yall definitely can have a chance at the acc title and if thats the case yall will def be in the tourney

This is part of the problem 7:25, lack of bigs = lack of defense around the basket, something unc was always known for.
What's up with Caleb Love? The ACC leading scorer has 7 points, 1 assist, and 1 turnover. Post-game Armondo was passed about play. 1st half they were feeding him and built a 9 point lead early 2nd half. Then they quit. He was not happy and criticized their desire. I'm sure he's talking about Caleb.

And therein lies the problem. UNC has been one of my favorite teams since forever. But these guys have to play better AS A TEAM.
@gudenergy.only8153 um leaky is a 5th year player, bacot is a 4 year player, Caleb and Davis are both 3 year players.
@gudenergy.only8153 unc is usually pretty good about trying to get 3 and 4 year players. Which is how we re ending up with players like leaky black and styles and Dunn. Seems though like the players we re getting now aren't as talented or big as the ones we re used to getting. We do have our occasional O&D and I hate when they land one bcuz I know he's not gonna stay and help us win another chip. Keep the O&Ds imo. Give us better 3 n 4 year guys. Col basketball has just changed over th last few years. Smh

I don't believe they're the better team. Give me Bacot and Love any day. I would say they're playing together as a team. I think they were ranked pre - season to finish like 14th or something in the league. They got a couple decent players due to transfer. Hinson is a beast. And Burton is like what? 30. (Just kidding) We'll see if they can continue this in league play. I hope they do tbh, I always liked Pitt.

@3jcape been a rough stretch over the last few seasons getting this unc teams chemistry right. Going back to the 2019 2020 season. We saw a glimpse of this team's talent late last year.
When the technical foul was called on Pitt UNC had an opportunity to get 4 or 5 points and only got one. Poor execution!

Team has no heart. No fight. Hubert Davis doesn't know how to sub in his bench. Tarheels looked exhausted in last part of second half. Pete Nance said no team has it together this early in the season. Early? He has no fight or drive. I think his presence tones the team down not up. This team is NIT bound. Gotta have play makers playing not the same old BS. This team is a real disappointment. SO much potential and so little chemistry and no heart.
