    This is so devastating as a Chicago Bulls fan. Man, I swear we are cursed at the Point Guard spot. I always thought that Lonzo Ball is the PERFECT Point Guard the Bulls need -- Pure playmaking first, improved and legit 3-pt shooter, and plays defense at an All-Defense level (if he didn't get injured). I do hope he can come back 100%, but his history of injuries has stockpiled into a level of worrying.

      Yep. I fear his career is heading towards early retirement, but I like what A.M Hoops brought up and it's Shaun Livingston. Yeah, Lonzo might have to go into NBA career retirement, but if he can get back and maintain, he could have a post-injury Shaun Livingston future ahead.

    As a Physical therapist assistant I never condone doing multiple surgeries cause you can never go back to the beginning once it's done. His knee may never be the same and being away for too long from the league can deteriorate his skillset. I wish him the best to a speedy recovery and hopefully he can resume his career to a respectable level.

    • @AlejandroRamirez-rx1py
      @AlejandroRamirez-rx1py Рік тому +3

      @@Iaintsayinnothin.. That's exactly correct. Once meniscus is removed you are already prone to accelerating degeneration of the knee and potential early stages towards getting the knee replaced. Sure, the upside is he is young and can bounce back. But, with multiple surgeries under his belt, his verticle and burst of speed will be reduced and any form of quick cuts and pivots will not be good as his career progresses if he is to get clearance and resume play. He definitely will go the route of Brandon Roy if they dont figure this out.

    I absolutely feel so bad for Lonzo Ball , I mean honestly this could not have happened to a player like him
    And let’s face it the Chicago bulls have desperately missed his presence all year

    First of all saying the Pelicans dodged a bullet is complete misinformation. Different circumstances lead to different results and there is no guarantee Lonzo gets injured like this on the Pelicans.
    Second of all even if Lonzo still gets the same injury with the Pelicans they still didn’t dodge a bullet. Here’s why. Ultimately bailing on Lonzo forced them to find another point guard whom turned out to be Devonte Graham. To aquire Devonte they gave up the 15th pick in last years Draft. Devonte’s salary was 60% that of Lonzo’s for the same 4 years. Devonte was such a disaster the Pelicans were forced two give another team 4 second round picks to get rid of him and clear his salary, which really amounts to 3 given they received a 2nd in the original Lonzo trade. The two players they received in the Lonzo Ball Bulls trade were Garret Temple and Tomas Satoransky. Both of these players turned out to be disasters and one of them (Temple) is still occupying cap space at approximately 5.2 million per year over 3 years. The Pelicans still have him. The second player (Satoransky) was making 6.4 million a year and was a worthless throw-in during a trade. Given that 6.4 million still cost the Pels that year it still equates to about 1.6 million per year over 4 years. That means the combination of these three players cost the Pels over 4 years 18.8 million per year. Lonzo was 20 million per year.
    Now one more point the players taken in the 2022 NBA draft with the 15th, 16th, and 17th pick were Mark Williams (young promising defensive center), AJ Griffin (3 point marksmen who looks like a steal), and Tari Eason(who is surely a steal and likely top 6 player in the draft. I do believe Willie Green would have selected one of these three as they were clearly the top prospects at that point. Plus given draft history (Herb Jones, Dyson Daniels, Jose Alvarado) Tari Eason would have been the exact kind of player he would have wanted. Furthermore in the case of Mark Williams and AJ Griffin the Pelicans biggest needs were a backup center capable of covering the pick and roll and more three point shooting for Zion.
    To sum things up the Pelicans saved a million dollars in cap space over 4 years by trading Lonzo. They lost the 15th pick (likely a good young player, maybe great) in the draft and 3 second round picks. So I ask what exactly did the Pelicans gain? They currently have no point guard capable of setting the offense up which is their biggest flaw today. Lonzo fit the Pelicans perfect. He had a great connection with Zion and his teammates loved him. We seen how quick the Bulls ranked without him.
    So last question wouldn’t have been better had the Pelicans took the risk of keeping Lonzo rather than the way things turned out?
    I just really don’t want there to be a narrative now about how the trade was great and the Pelicans dodged a bullet. The trade was awful by any standard one can measure. In fact it was likely one of, if not the worst trade in franchise history. Only the Tyson Chandler trade may be worse, given that it led to the departure of Chris Paul.

    Lomzo ball has had it eought the Bulls are miss manging his injury and it is ruining his career and cause they don,t know how to fix a injury that should be fixable. and they forced him to put too much pressure on his legs and upper body too early and now the pain has gotten wrose. and also has to do with misscunication between Lonozo and the bulls. he honeslty should leave the bulls if they are hurting his career by giving him the wrong treatmeants.

    Hornets should make a move next season a try to grab him then send Terry Rozier to Bulls
    then Hornets should rebuild 2-3yrs for Lonzo and Lamelo that would be lit if they starts to be healthy
