- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a National Automobile Scrappage Policy, with an emphasis on creating a circular economy. The PM said that the introduction of a vehicle scrapping policy is likely to attract investment of Rs 10,000 crore to Gujarat.

70 साल से स्कैप पालिसी तक नही बनाई गयी इस उघोग मे इसी का ध्यान नही गया अब 2018 के बाद हर क्षेत्र मे बदलाओ लाया जा रहा इसी कडी मे स्कैप पालिसी लाकर मोदी सरकार ने बडा काम किया इससे विदेशी निवेश व रोजगार बहुत मिलेगा और इन स्कैप को विदेश मे भी बेचा जायेगा ये नया उघोग व नयी सोच 🙏💐🇮🇳

गाड़ी स्क्रेप करने पर कम से कम 25% तक कीमत मिलनी चाहिए।ताकि नई गाड़ी खरीदने में ज्यादा बोझ न पड़े।बेशक रोडटैक्स,फिटनेस, रजिस्ट्रेशन इत्यादि में कम छूट मिले।

This Policy has many flaws. The strategy needs to be reimplement because the age of the vehicle cannot determine the how badly it's affecting the environment but the health of the engine. The more you use the vehicle the more it will pollute.
Commercial vehicles fits perfectly in this policy because there is more wear and tear but for personal use vehicle it doesn't make sense at all.
And let me add up few more points.
1. Scrapping and reproducing new vehicle will pollute the environment even more.
2. They say EV doesn't pollute, well production of battery emits Hugh amount of carbon emission.
3. Not every individual will be able to afford new vehicle.
4. Lot of corruption will happen in RTO's.
5. Speaking of employment? When there is no more frequent wear and tear, then how can u expect local mechanic to survive ?
Everything thing will come at a cost which is really not worth it right now.
I believe there should be more 💚flexibility in this policy.
Raj's comments r perfect n we need not follow th foreigners but must have our independent policy on old vehicles.

If you go to buy a new car, it will cost you more than 5 lakhs. You will get fitness test in 40k. If your old car is in good condition, better keep it. Don't fall for discount offers trap. For long tours hire a cab. Still it will be cheaper than buying a new car.

Vehicles are kept often in the form of a memoir of someone or something....a mandatory end for those vehicles is not good in my POV.

However, nowadays, due to traffic congested roads, skyrocketing fuel prices, overcharged depreciation, overpollution etc. it is far better to use cab services and in the near future, a majority of desk jobs will be shifted to work from home.
Anyway, a purchased car is used momentarily for reaching from one location to another so even economically it is way too expensive to own a vehicle in comparison to hired ones.

It was those countries idea to scrap old cars in the name of pollution so that they can fool people and force people to give up old cars at a very low price and buy new cars at a very high price so that private companies can earn more profit.

भाइयों हमें लगता है सरकार सबसे पहले खटारा हो चुकी सरकारी परिवहन बसों को हटा कर नयी बसों को खरीद कर चलाएं जो सरकारी बसों का फिटनेस तक नहीं किया जाता है।और दिनों दिन किराया बढ़ा कर महगा किराया वसूल किया जा रहा है।।
Govt should allow a Customer to pay Ex Showroom amount after getting 5 per cent discount and take away the New Car. The rest charges upto getting the car in On Road Price must be subsidised because Govt is already taking huge taxes if we calculate the factory cost of a Motor Vehicle also the prospective owner will start purchasing petrol @ 102.00 approx per liter here also he will start paying taxes and continue until the car goes to scrapyard. So these policies needs correction and huge relaxation must be given by the Govt to promote the policy.

This Policy has many flaws. The strategy needs to be reimplement because the age of the vehicle cannot determine the how badly it's affecting the environment but the health of the engine. The more you use the vehicle the more it will pollute.
Commercial vehicles fits perfectly in this policy because there is more wear and tear but for personal use vehicle it doesn't make sense at all.
many economic backward people will loose source of income, travel. now they will walk to work !! small income source people will struggle further to survive !!

सामान्य और गरीब व्यक्ति के लिए फिर से गाडी खरीदना लगभग असंभव ही रहता है यह पाॅलिसी बनाने वालों को तो इसकी कल्पना ही नही है. पुरानी गाडी का री- रजिस्ट्रेशन भी काफी महंगा है.इसे कम करना चाहिए.यदि पुरानी,खराब गाडीयों को हटाने के लिए उनके मालिकों को नयी गाडी खरीदने के लिए और ज्यादा आर्थिक छूट,मदद देना चाहिए.

If someone's vehicle is above 15 years and it passes the test and their vehicle is fit for running on road then too if he wants to buy a new one will this scheme apply to the same?

My dear, govt. can take alternative steps for cleaning the env. pollution like tree plantation which urban development ministry can take care, industrial emissions which industrial development ministry can take care,
expanding the cities which city development authorities can take care. Not everything has to be burdened on the middle class people. What are we paying new increased taxes for then. Govt. don't manufacture and sell vehicles, its the private companies. And private companies in no circumstance will allow loss, or else they will stop producing vehicles only. The base price will increase with this that's it. And they will show we are giving subsidy as govt. promised but the net price will remain as it was before. Middle class people pls be more intelligent.
