    5511 was a preservation miracle. An obscure locomotive for a Class 1 that was saved only by an employee. A rather rare occasion, unfortunately.

    A cool whistle of that 2-10-2 in which was used on the Union Pacific Railroad, and is now undergoing restoration back to working order again. Nice video of this whistle belonging to no other than Union Pacific 5511.

    Man that 5 chime sounds nice! If I were to pick of which UP steam I’m looking forward to see operating again out of the RRHMA’s collection, it would definitely be 5511 since she’s more unique, but I’ll always have a soft spot for 3985

      JC 85 really made the whistle scream, but imagine 5511 blasting the whistle one day

    Just imagine! In a few years, a 2-10-2 with Young valve gear roaming around the Midwest blowing that 5 chime through the prairies!

      Ah yes. Sure is an interesting model, but it surely needs to be remodeled. Same goes with the other 2-10-2s, it’s not just the texturing that needs to be improved, but they also need to be fully upgraded, not only with extra details, but there are some gaps that can be seen from behind the firebox, and underneath the domes which also needs to be fixed. Not to mention the UV mapping and the cab needs to be retooled and to basically remodel the whole thing. Having the same quality as Greencoast Studios and Jointed Rail combined, if you understand where this is going. Too bad I’m not a 3D modeler so I can’t really help with that. Only time will tell if said models can be remade from the ground up. However unlikely.

    #5511 is a 2-10-2 Locomotive build by Baldwin in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, in 1923 and placed in revenue service the following month on the Union Pacific Railroad.

      dang, although they are good games in my opinion, anyways uhh, what else do you have on mind after doing Pack 14, some nutshells again, more mystery whistles, memes? (sorry about that, am curious)

    • @T128Productions
      @T128Productions  Місяць тому

      Right now I’m taking a minor break from making nutshells and already started re-working on my “How These Trains Should Have Sounded” series, starting from the first one, and redubbing the whole thing to make each train sound more realistic.
      I haven’t worked on any whistle mysteries in a while since the last time I worked on one which was probably almost a year ago. As for the memes, I haven’t been working on those either. Not since the last one I made featuring Danny Harmon (aka Distant Signal) which I made just for laughs.

    tothose who say stuff like 838 and 9000 should be restored, 838 is a lost cause at this point, and there isn't many places to run 9000 due to it's rigid wheelbase length

    • @T128Productions
      @T128Productions  Місяць тому +1

      1) Of course the 9000 won’t be restored to operation. Not only with its rigid frame, but the third cylinder would be very hard to access if it ever breaks down mid journey. All that I can say is that the 9000 would have boiler lagging to be a part of her cosmetic restoration, which the Rail Giants museum would be better off doing. Besides, the 9000 looks way too perfect where she’s displayed. As for the whistle, they could at least get a bigger air compressor, so that way it’ll sound better than how it does nowadays. Same goes for the other locomotives displayed on the same property (particularly the DD40X, ATSF 3450 and SP 5021) which the horns and whistles would sound way better under higher air pressure. I mean, have you heard the SD40-2’s horn? It sounds way better than the entire exhibit! I mean besides the 5021’s whistle which sounds decent.
      2) The 838 only serves as a source for spare parts for the 844. Her fate has been sealed since her retirement, the 838’s retirement, not the 844’s obviously. Perhaps the 838’s whistle (which I don’t know if that whistle still exists) would be used on the 844 if she runs once again. Now that would make a great comeback!
