The kids at our school love Coach Ro! My son just joined the master gardener club this year and is loving it. We just purchased some grow bags to plants carrot seeds he brought home. He is excited to plant and take care of them. And I’m excited to see all that he learns through this program. Thanks Coach Ro for all you do for our community and our kids.
The junior master Gardner course is amazing! My grand daughter participated for 2 yrs in middle school here in Ohio. She was such a picky eater until she grew vegetables that she then tried and loved them! She’s a sophomore in high school now and salads and vegetables are her favorite foods!
Greg, a great video with wonderful information, and in addition, Rolando is a gift to his school and community. I believe that this type of program could be useful in most every school. What a wonderful way to introduce children to not only growing vegetables, but also learning basic economics, science, and community engagement. I will be passing this video along to my son who works as an administrator in a school district here in North Carolina
this man is absolutely God sent, I wish him and his students all the best, and hope that 100's of others take his lead and make it their own whether at schools or neighborhoods or parks, where ever kids, adults anyone who wants to learn. Next teach them how to cook/ preserve all their hard work
I got one! Love it! My babies love weeding!!!! We had 2 boxes of your potatoes this year! The kids loved planting and finding potatoes! Today we planted spinach in class and this week we are planting root vegetables and brassicas in our garden. They love the discovery! We are slowly getting our whole school involved and the community!!! I’ve had students in my gardens for over 15 years in two different schools! I teach cycles and patterns. I teach weather watching and graphing to how it goes with planting. We’re going to a pumpkin patch and discuss farming. It is my love with our littles!
Man, I love what he is saying!!!! My granddaughter is working as a teacher's aide in a special needs elementary school classroom. Her teacher wanted to try gardening with her kids and my granddaughter was all in. She tells me daily what has happened, how the kids absolutely love the gardening, and how excited she, their teacher, the kids AND the others in the school are about the garden. Listening tonight to Rolando inspired so many different ideas to share with them. I'm so excited now. THANK you for this video and the information presented. Thank you Rolando for your enthusiastic sharing and offer of advice. Will be in touch!
Rolando: I happened on the Hoss site because of your subject matter gardening, it just so happens I was discussing the same idea for students to teach home gardening I have a 3/4 acre plot that I and my wife and have been growing vegetables in addition to persevering for 15+ years. Just don't know how to get started, I was thinking to approach the pastor in our church but I did not have a proposal to present a study structure, My Wife and I have the knowledge but not a game plan...as it were. Have you a study plan or tutorial to suggest?

Yes! It will be important for the next generation to be more self reliant.
