I didn’t want to be, but I am so impressed with all of the Innersense products I’ve been using on my type 3b/med density/normal porosity curly hair. In the past I’ve never had great experience with silicone free/“free from”/natural hair care brands, but since I’ve started using Innersense products I don’t find myself using anything else. Seriously, I wanted to dislike the brand but I have to eat my words. The hype is real in my experience. Quiet Calm Curl Control and I Create Volume (a med hold liquid gel) are true one-and-done stylers for me and that is a true rarity for all curly hair types as we all know! I’m very sensitive to fragrance and all of the products I’ve tried have truly gender-neutral, gentle, very pleasant fragrances that don’t linger or leave you suffocated by your own hair throughout the day. Again, super impressed and I was about as skeptical as someone could be going in.

It’s not science-based and relies on inducing fear in the consumer about unscientific terms like “toxins” to sell product. Innersense also claims that their products seal water inside the hair, which is also not how hair works. If water is in the hair strand, the hair is wet. If water were trapped inside the hair shaft, the hair would be stuck in a swollen state. This would stress the cuticle layer and cuticle damage would quickly result. Hygral fatigue would eventually result, which is irreversible. So it’s just total bullshit marketing, because if they used real science to inform their marketing they wouldn’t be saying this stuff. They even say their products don’t build up on the hair, using a common curly girl method lie that silicones build up more than “natural” ingredients. They use shea butter, beeswax, coconut oil, and many more products that coat the hair and are insoluble in water. This means they DO build up on the hair and require proper cleansing to remove - just like silicones do. The thing is, you actually WANT conditioners and stylers to deposit into the hair. This is how they work. If they didn’t, their effect would be compromised. Do you see how everything they say is the opposite of what is actually true? I think their products are well formulated and their gels and foams are unique in their use of sugars to create a cast. Beyond that their whole marketing story is pseudoscience.
I can’t believe how great the foam side looks with just the new foam. I have all the innersense styling products so I have I create lift and I use it to get volume on top and for refreshing. It wouldn’t work for me as a one and done but this looks promising. Mine was supposed to come yesterday and the shipping is delayed . I’m so excited to try this !
I love the foam side! I had no idea they came out with a new foam! 😍 I've been using a foam like every washday for awhile now, & already love their I create lift foam to scrunch in all over!
The I create finish spray is my holy grail product mix with the curl cream. This I create definition made a hard cast so bad it was stiff and the curls were hard as a rock.
Oh no I'm gonna have to cave in and try this one! I was holding off because my last shipment from innersense took three agonizing weeks lol I have India Batson hair it's very fluffy and doesn't clump easily its a constant challenge. The only product I have ever actually felt angry at is I create hold, my hair HATES it. I've tried it so many times in so many ways and no matter what I do it makes my hair look like electrified noodles it's awful on me. Using the color radiance conditioner as a leave in followed by a cocktail of the smoothing cream and I create volume on soaking wet hair with a 10 minute plop is the ticket for me. The hair spray over this seals it and I cannot overuse the hairspray it's idiot proof. I create waves is my refresher it gives me insane volume and texture. There is minimal frizz but I don't mind it. I ran screaming back to this magic combo after a bad experience with JVN air dry cream. I will definitely try this my hair normally loves foams! I need hold that doesn't pull my curls out hoping this works! 😊
Oh I hear you on the shipping! I definitely agree with you on the hairspray! I can see this becoming a favorite! I think you’ll like this foam. It does leave a cast but once it’s scrunched out there’s no trace of noodles! (Some gels do that to me too. 😝) And the hold is amazing without weight! I’m absolutely loving it! I feel like I Create Volume is a slept on product. I think the name is deceptive. It’s a fantastic, true medium hold liquid gel. It provides excellent definition and frizz control without weighing down hair.
For me it’s way better than I create lift! That one gives me a lot of frizz! And this one has a lot more hold but still gives a great amount of volume. I much prefer I create definition. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

I mix the I cream definition foam with water in my hands and then glaze it over my hair before diffusing. I use like 2-3 pumps for entire head of ,medium thickness and density, long hair. I already brush styled and scrunched with leave in (or curl cream) and I creat hold. I can get the most lasting curls that I’ve ever had doing this.
Their products have a good balance of both protein and moisture. I don’t really see them causing over conditioning or too much protein but you could mix in other brands in your wash days. Or use their hydrating shampoo and conditioner along with their styling products. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

The no frizz comment and I'm sold! How do you find it compares to the I create lift?

Innersense is a big no for me. The products made my hair super dry and frizzy. And yes, I applied products to wet hair in the shower.
