It was a pleasure getting to discuss and explore the first and second Mario Maker games, they sure have changed the Mario community and brought so much cool things and ideas to the franchise. Hope some of you try out Mario Kart Fantastic Tower, CR had the ideas for concept and verticality of it, so it was a cooperative effort! Excellent review and video too dude :D

I started to have so much fun on part 2 I decided to go back in time and play and finish the 3ds version first with my Mario maker edition 2ds ...love it...like playing a Gameboy again

As someone who has spent many hours here laying both Mario makes 2 is missing several features the original had but is an overall better game and experience.

The Course builder is good and beautiful! Some things bother me tho /: I wish I could still shake an enemy to change it. I hate going back and forth and changing enemies.

If the Nintendo devs could patch in a dual Switch set up, users who have either 2 in the family or an original and a "mini" could replicate the WiiU dual screen edit / creation set-up. Based on Super Mario Party and various local wireless play games it is technologically possible. I don't know the programming part though. Maybe that's something that must be built in from the start. Still it is something I would like to see.
I'll never forgive Mario Maker 2 for removing Amiibo costumes, they could've done So Much more with that besides Removing it, or replacing it with some stupid Mii costumes nobody cares about
um you can buy a stylus for the switch hell the UK ver of mario maker comes with a stylus if you preordered so you have to buy one it doesn't come with the system but it does have one and you can buy em online
He said he used the stylus and it wasn’t great

@@Motherload3000 well, I'm pushing the point hard. but it's just annoying that someone can't understand how a stylus works altogether, it's just a conductive material with you finishing the circuit essentially.
I just like to make trolly like comments lol, but in reality, go grab some pencil lead (graphite) and you will find you can use that for mario maker 2 or ANY game or any device that is activating your touch via a small electrical input from your fingers.
You seem to be missing a bunch of minor changes/nerfs to the editor. Bill Blasters can only grow half as tall in SMM2. Enemies in the editor can't overlap conveyor belts, even a bill blaster in a cloud. Nothing can overlap pipes, to the point where pipes connected at a 90 degree angle don't connect to each other anymore. While the latter is purely an aesthetic flaw, there was a ton of cool stuff you could do with overlapping pipes and overlapping stuff like red coins and enemies, now no longer possible.
And while many of the features that I took extensive advantage of in SMM1 are gone, there's enough new stuff and adjustments to help make up for the losses, and I'm pretty happy! That 32 course limit is gonna hurt, though. I used up basically all 100 upload slots in SMM1, and now I'd have to pay cash money for another account so I could upload as many levels as I had in SMM1.

What I fear is: everything missing from the first Mario Maker is gonna be paid DLC. There's a ton of situations where I think "damn, why didn't they think of this?" and then I remember DLC is a thing and I feel there's potential that it could get especially ugly with Mario Maker 2.
I doubt it would be paid dlc, probably free dlc
Mm2 is a game im definitely gonna pick up soon, but im prioritizing Fire Emblem: 3 Houses first.

The only thing I complain about is that you can’t use a regular stylus or something like a sharpie marker (literally what I used the last times I played SMM1) but there is a special stylus that is available to pre order from the place I was on vacation but not in the us

Lmfao😄i like Super Mario maker 1 because of different Zelda levels and metroid levels even kirby levels that you can use amiibo customs of samus or kirbs or link or zelda mind blow instead just mario so limits levels making in my opinion.

New themes for DLC would be awesome. I'd still really love to see a New Super Mario Bros DS theme.
For me personally, I see no reason to buy Mario maker 2 besides the 3D World style
I mean, one big reason is the majority of the community is going to be on Mario Maker 2, and it's portable now. Also slopes. If that's not enough to still see "no reason" to buy it then idk what they could add to convince you.
