      The level its installed at dictates the amount of lubricant that can be used. So try to avoid installing the reservoir horizontal because it will limit your available range. Even if you can wedge something under the top of the reservoir to have it sitting at a slight angle this will already increase your available range.

    I have fit about 5 of these to my bikes over the years but not had a bike for a few years and just got back into it. I really liked the old touring tank that fit behind the number plate as it made filling the tank virtually fit and forget, just topping it up about every 2-3 months. I can't see them for sale anymore just some bag things. Are the bags refillable? I have two bottles of oil from 10-15 years ago that were never opened but I irdered the new green oil version. Can I switch between them at will in order to use up my vintage supply. Thanks. I am liking the scorpion dual output thing. I did have a double output version on my XJR years ago but this looks much better.

    Its only lubing the outside of the chain, how do you address the opposite side, the interior?

    • @ScottoilerHQ
      @ScottoilerHQ  6 років тому +7

      To get the best performance from your Scottoiler first clean your chain. Paraffin and a brush are great tools for this job. Once your chain is clean, manually drizzle or paint Scottoil over the length of the chain, inside and out, remembering both sets of side plates. Wipe off any excess.
      Once this is done, the Scottoiler system simply has to ‘top up’ this protective layer. A small amount of oil is sufficient for this as the oil can easily travel over all surfaces to reach both sides of the chain.

    Is there a specific oil that has to be used with these systems?
    Roughly how long does a full reservoir of oil last?

    • @ScottoilerHQ
      @ScottoilerHQ  6 років тому +1

      Hi Northern Rider! Yes, all Scottoiler systems come with Scottoil - either Standard Blue or High Temp Red. The normal reservoir last between 800 to 1500 miles, depending on the flow rate. That is roughly 60ml. Any system comes with 250ml Scottoil, so you are covered for the first 2500 miles of riding!

      Excellent, thanks for the quick reply.
      Seems pretty cheap to keep going too if the reservoir lasts that long on just 60ml of oil, after checking I can get 500ml refill bottles for £15, assuming it was set at roughly 1,000 miles per 60ml, that's quite good at only £15 per 8,000 miles.

      Hi Mark, it is automatic but you can adjust the flow rate using the dial at the top

    What they DON'T tell you is the washer tab with the delivery nib rotates when you tighten the axle nut, and is a nightmare to position accordingly!

    • @ScottoilerHQ
      @ScottoilerHQ  4 роки тому +1

      Hi tonebonetones! We now offer a different injector setup with our new Multiform Dispenser Adapter that comes as standard in all kits. It's a separate setup independent of the axle and has additional forward/backwards adjustment for when you tighten your chain.

      This system works with vacuum from motorcycle ....reduce motorcycle performance ??????

    • @ScottoilerHQ
      @ScottoilerHQ  6 років тому +2

      No, it has absolutely no detrimental effect on engine performance - but it will make the chain set more efficient. The link below is an installation guide to the Suzuki GW250 Inazuma
