This man unironically has one the the cleanest and heaviest sounding mixes out there, structure sounds mixdown everything is out of this world, keep this up king 🙏🏼
Wow, grouping all Lead layers together with a sub and cutting the sub after distortion just to get the perfect crisp without low-end pollutioon is such a cool and clean way to work with distortion! Thank you for sharing
If u want Cronch effect open serum put mg low 12 filter reso all way up in effects chain use phs i prefer -12 you got sound like Space Laces Cruise Control
Great laying technique! I'm also a fan of keeping the sub in for processing and then removing it at the end and replacing it with a individual sub channel. Thanks!
In my experience the sub resonates better left in, but I generally stick to my giant resample stash of neuro basses. Ymmv depending on your source synth and how you EQ/filter each bounce
@@Hollandvancewright I definitely know what you mean as well, there are some tracks I leave the sub rather than separate it to another channel. I think I've seen it done both ways depending on the track 😁 older productions of mine I've always separated it because I swore some producer told me that's the only proper way to do it but these days I don't believe that's true at all. Whatever solution works, works! Cheers!
cool tutorial. Kinda wish you would change the colors and rename tracks, but I totally get being in the flow and not really feeling like it's worth time but for ppl like me it helps me visualize the composition, but my background is visual art
No not sidechained just adding a sub layer In with basses then saturating the entire group will get some nice distortion. Then I remove sub frequencywith an EQ after the saturation.
Could you share what DB that grouped later should be hitting on the master? And what is the clean sub hitting in relation to it? Thanks for the awesome video.
Clan please do Tutorial on that "Wmop" sound, that comes with almost any kick? Seems to sound simple, I just cant get quite right... Thank you so much ♥
@@sportmodemusic daaaamn okay I will definitely get your Patreon bc there is so much more that I want!!! But rn im broke as fuck, I mean noodles wich ketchup broke 😂😂😂😂 Im so sorry for that. Not that you asked me but a ver simular sound if nt the same can be done by fm with 2 sinwaves that are 1- 3 octaves apart, sometimes detuning one 7 semi tones can give you a odd harmonic sound like a square wave. then low pass the high end

The snares in this song are just magical dude.
Thanks! I used different resonant peak layers depending on the different notes my lead was hitting to almost make a chord lol

Simple but effective for sure!
the sine layer in the bass group providing the crunch is so genius. thank you!
this is top notch! So helpful. Never really thought of using the sub and shaping it with an lfo for that extra crunch.
i been listening to Bad Intentions for like a year, just randomly came across this in the recommendations, you're nice w it 🙏🏾

@@Hollandvancewrightdepends on the group processing, I have reverb in mine so didn’t want the sub going thru that.

🔥 I don't understand how you're using the sub to add the crunch. Are you sidechaning into the group? You're a goat for all the tutorials btw 🙏

The group is probably clipping into the master tbh and for sub I aim to hit between -4 and -2 db
