7 goals in a rec hockey game isn't really that crazy, but I think NL is using the NHL as a reference where the goalies and defense are top class and everyone is near the same level of skill and athleticism. In casual hockey, goals can be scored pretty quickly since the rink is relatively small (about 200 feet compared to a 300ft soccer/football field) and the players and puck are moving fast since everything is on ice.

Tried out the game, never played a moba in my damn life so I'm so ass at this game its unreal
I'm just free elo if NL ever matches up against me
EDIT: Game is going offline in about 12 hours until April for the full release, just came back here to say I'm really thankful for NL's OS vids. I wouldn't have gotten into the game if it wasn't for NL being low elo, making me want to try to see if I can actually do better than him. At the start I was actual ass like NL, but I got into the community and grinded my way up, getting better and now finish the open beta as a high ranking player, around rank 4000 NA and rank 9100 globally. Couldn't have come this far without these vids inspiring me to try to snipe NL's matches🙏
