I loved him because he is not only promoting Indian classical but he is showing Indian Culture to global World............................best of luck mate!!!!! Hope get a chance to meet you in this life somewhere
I finally figured out why the prolonged finalle works: the audience get frustrated and the cheer builds up inside them so they're a lot louder when they finally get to aplaud.
I, mr.Vishal am from yours truly america and i personally love your music, the accordian is simply perfection. The way you mesmerized me was a true euphoria, please keep more music flying through the doors, and to everybody who likes him peace be with you, STOP THE WARS :D!!!!!
amazing Vishal, so true to your wonderful form and talent....hope you return to TO soon and we can have some more mesmerizing evenings with your classical repertoire...
This is so not what I tune into TedTalks for, but I did like it. It was a musical form I have little experience with. Kinda mind expanding for that reason... The best part for me was the first 5 minutes or so, after that it started to drag a little for me. Oh, and for the guy who complained that he wasted 13 minutes watching the whole thing, I have no sympathy. Your browser has a "back button".
amazing performance i still don't get why TED videos which are not about numbers or world theories got disparaged. probably the authors of these talks enjoy this ones the most. not only with his brains but with his whole being.
I agree.. the music was tolerable at best and there are better and far more talented musicians in India and Pakistan who can mesmerise us with their music..
Welll..... They'd better listen to Pete Namlook and have some Organic BC pot (thanks Misha Glenny for the tip!) if the TEDsters really feel like spacing out :)
At the start of the song I immediately knew that I loved this, but maybe not. After finishing the song there are several parts I did not like. His voice and the accordion. I liked most of his singing, and most of the accordion, but it got annoying. I find music like Ravi Shankar, which is mainly a sitar and some sort of hand drum, much more hypnotic. It can be playing always, but never intrude on my thoughts. Can't say the same about this by Vishal Vaid, although id love to hear more.
interesting music. u need to have a special background, a specific understanding of the scales of this music to comprehend it. If u dont like, dont shit ur pants yet. It is really very classical in composure. It is like asking an african tribesman to appreciate operah.,
"brains" methaphorically could be an interpretation. maybe a more accurated one would be with both sides of the brain instead of using only/mostly the left side.
It seems you are unfamiliar with the ""X" my ass" construct within certain dialects of the English language. If you want to contest that something, is something, you can put it before "my ass" to display discontent, adjectives can be used in this structure. eg. two Glaswegians talking about the new James Bond movie: "it was interesting" "interesting my ass". The second Glaswegian contests the opinion that the movie was interesting by inserting interesting in the place of X in ""X" my ass".
I see, I study in an art college so I see this type of thing allot. Its good but like all things can get a bit tiresome, so that is probably why I dont think its all that impressive. Not that I could do any better haha.
A passable performance, but the vocalist really dragged the group down in terms of quality, and the tabla player didn't really seem to be anything special (though I'm not much of an expert of Indian percussion, to be fair). Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it would be nice to see TED hold hold musicians the the same kind of standards they hold speakers to.
Who listens to this beautiful song till now?
the human voice is as much an instrument as any other
Loved his hypnotic music

that was true music session,,,,,,,,,,such an image you receive when you close your eyes and try to envision what you are listening to. Wonderful

amazing Vishal, so true to your wonderful form and talent....hope you return to TO soon and we can have some more mesmerizing evenings with your classical repertoire...
maalam brahim! this is brahim fribgane on oud, who is one of the most amazing musicians around.
Thank you TED for investing in high quality cams and audio recorders.
The build up to the beautiful delivery at 3:50 is amazing. I'd love to find some more soft indian style music along these lines
The play fight between the performing musicians is traditional. Really adds to the performance
Music is about sharing a view. I loved it.
Fabulous 👌
Wonderful music, I loved it.

The sound isn't full enough to be hypnotic but that might be my netbook speakers.
yeah and thank integrity for that
amazing performance

omg awesome !!!!!!
While I mostly agree, the last statement goes against the middle letter of the TED Acronym.
I wish TED became TD
Man this guy's pationate about it :D he's brilliant
👍
@DanteMoodyFilms accordian only.
Can you recommend one on youtube that is better?
derbouka! woow! ;)
finally some good music on TED. most times the music is terrible.
This is AMAZING. What's that that Vishal is playing, though? The box-like accordian?
Harmonium
@unhingedmind your right..
Couldn't help myself from laughing when the video got to this part and I had just read your comment.
Anyone else feel like getting stoned whilst listening to this?
This reminds me of Spanish flamenco music played by the gypsies. It sounds like it might have an Arab influence.
it's hypnotic, you just don't know how to listen to it.
2021
ohm
I wish they'd given more time to the tabla player. Some of the tabla solos are absolutely amazing
I agree.. the music was tolerable at best and there are better and far more talented musicians in India and Pakistan who can mesmerise us with their music..
THOSE PANTS
@Cocotte123321 i can't hear anything else when i'm listening this
OMG who can dislike this??? show urselves
What's the name of this song? Where can you buy?
ugh i hate it when i start reading comments.
Welll..... They'd better listen to Pete Namlook and have some Organic BC pot (thanks Misha Glenny for the tip!) if the TEDsters really feel like spacing out :)
Britny couldnt come, this guy was next on the list.
This is music from South Asia. It is from Pakistan.
Who's talking to you? I wasn't.
He got Micheal Phelps to play the bass?
چی ضرور
I agree it cant be called hypnotic but then, it cant be called crap either :)
@Cocotte123321 DUDE I'm FUCKing high right now, listening to this!!!. The drum sounds, just sucked me in.
this would be cool on shrooms
I dont get why this is on TED. I mean I have nothing against the music, I just dont see how it is interesting enough to be on TED.
hypnotic my ass
Not bad at all for improv.
Ravi Shankar, mayhaps.

I guess he's trying to mix Indian Classical, Sufi and Hip-hop...
if they got 5.1 SS they would know.
haha 3:05, he stops i dunno on purpose or not.
this is not punjabi, I'm punjabi.
sa re ga ma pa = do re me fa so la
He's not saying anything :D
not bad, but I don't really see what's so hypnotic about it...
Strooth
You tried something new.. still good

is this farsi or indian ?
Trolled
Cool song, not usually the what I would listen to but it was neat. Not hypnotized though.
I disagree. The vocalist seemed to have great timing and hit every note as far as I could tell.
really good music, but sounds like he left his cereal in the milk too long "Soggy sucks!" 7:00

@Cocotte123321 +1
how is this hypnotic??????
Don't know but definitely its not Japanese!!
dude repeating same words over and over totally ruins otherwise good music
why in the hell is this on TED ?
too much...
I see, I study in an art college so I see this type of thing allot.
