    About this video:
    This quick jig is perfect for a one-off use and can be built in 20 minutes. Simple but accurate. It's easy enough that you could make it every time the need arises. But, it’s sturdy enough to last. One caveat that I did add to the plans is to use a longer dowel than what I use in the video. I would go with a 3" long dowel to keep the jig from jumping off of it. I also added a bit of hot glue to the hole in the table to keep the dowel in place.

    If you can get a piece of 3 inch x1/2 x8 pvc then it works as a really really straight edge fence

    I see what looks like 2"x6" material glued up. have you had any warping to the top yet. And was it for outdoor use?
    Was it treated or not? I have a jig like that I made years ago, but used it on Red Oak for a Dinner table made up of 2"x2" glued.
    Great Jig and very well shown.

      It's an indoor table and, yes, I had to deal with some warping. It's wood from the skids this business' equipment came on, so it was very wet and construction-grade. I let it acclimate for a couple of months, but it still moved after assembly.

    What kind of router bit is used to cur the circle

  • @gordonhaley8162

    I noticed that with the plung router the router is mounted to the top of the jig on half inch plywood. I have a fixed router so do I need to use a thinner plywood for my jig ? I getting ready to cut out a 48” table top . Thanks for the video.

    • @OutoftheWoodwork
      @OutoftheWoodwork  3 роки тому

      It really depends on the total depth your router and how thick the table top is. You should be fine, you'll just have to drill a hole to set the router down into to start.
