It's kinda weird to think that I actually do have a VR now. For 5 years, I saved up money for a good PC from multiple part time jobs, all the while having this interest in VR that I couldn't act on because I just didn't have enough money at the time. 3 months ago, though, I finally managed to buy one and I've been enjoying it ever since. It's a quest 2 and I do wish I was capable of affording more, but like it's been a hell of a good time getting to know people in VRChat (when I'm able to talk-) and actually getting decent at Beat Saber.
I am in your past situation-- I really want to have a vr and I'm thinking of looking for a job next year so I can buy a PC decent enough so it can-- yk... Not lag or explode while I play
Hey man i have the same gpu and my quest 1 is hopefully arriving soon, How many frames do you get on vrc, bonerworks, and half life: alyx? Also what headset?
@@Birb- I went from a 1060 3gb to 3060 in December it's a great upgrade. I actually get 90hz doing quest 2 over link at around the native panel resolution. I will say though I've been traveling the past couple of days and only have my laptop. I somehow got a stable 72hz on the 1050 in that thing. waiting for the valve index to arrive, relatable - i had that wait-time spreadsheet open every day back then just to see that they just have an update every one or two weeks - also started playing vr on a CV1 and a 1050ti-slim, so yeah playing vrc with that really gave me 15fps at some times, still had one of the best times of my life there
I joined VR because I had a nerd club in school, And the main teacher who was in charge had a quest one and he let people use it… and after I tried it I was really amazed and I eventually got one myself.
I remember I first watched a video that got me into VR, it was a DanTDM video and he was playing Minecraft vr, I thought it was amazing since I think I was 7-8 at the time. From that point I fell in love with vr, always checking in on what vr is doing every now and again, but I had never tried it for myself because it was too expensive and no one had in my friend group. That is until my best friend got a PSVR, I remember loading up job simulator and being in awe of how great this feeling was, after that I felt like I needed vr more then ever, but again I didn’t have any money cause I was in middle school. Then my friend told me about the first oculus quest, and said that he had one, I rushed over to his house and played the shit out beatsaber cause that was the only game he had. He said it was only $400 for one, I was super surprised since up until that point you needed a pc and $700 more dollars for any pcvr. I started saving up money but again I was in middle school so I didn’t have a job and my parents didn’t pay me for chores so I again gave up on the idea of getting one. Until one year later when oculus came out with the quest 2 at only $300 bucks, and with the fact that I was getting $300 bucks from my family for my 15th birthday, that meant I could finally get my hands on one, and so that’s what I did, I ordered and one week later it showed up. I was so excited that I literally waited outside of my house for the delivery man. Lucky for me I had also saved up a couple hundred bucks so I could buy a couple of games. I’ve now had VR for almost a year and have never regretted buying it, until recently when I found out that oculus was selling the 128gb version for $300 bucks. But other then that I am very grateful that I have my own vr and that I now have a part in vr.
i was around 12 when i was watching teen reacts and i saw them playing the job simulator game and thats when i was finally interested in VR and kept myself updated with videos and newer consoles being released when i just stuck with the Oculus and finally got one this year and i do not regret it and i hope i can buy a pc to connect it to do more in games and in vrchat. Best of luck to you and hope to see more vids in the future.
I got myself a Vive Cosmos, last year... after playing with it for a few MONTHS and struggling with tracking, I looked up reviews...
