- This bike has been preserved for over 30 years, and this is the last ride on its way to its new owner. The end of this video is not with the new owner, but a friend who would appreciate seeing it. It drove just like it must have 30 years ago. I have ridden an SRX since 1987 but have long grown past this original sensation, and I realize with other SRXs I have been riding, how far things have continued to evolve from this common starting point which I have appreciated all along and hope to not forget.
Loved mine! Wish I still had it…if I find another one, I’m gonna snag it!
世の中のバイクで1番好きなのかも知れないです。ノーマルキック600いいですね
Owned 3, in 1990 - 2001 - 2007; my first real bike at 19 yo. What a beauty and character... beautiful.
Great video! And ,very nice condition.
I respect you as a companion SRX lovers.
Thank you ,from Shizuoka, Japan.
それ行け、スーパーシングルズ!
It looks very good condition and beautiful.
I feel your deep affection for this SRX from this video.
well honestly, it was a carefully well maintained bike that I had stewardship for a few years, and for me it was about conservation and mantenance of this well preserved specimen until its sale. I do have many SRX memories... since I have owned several.
I'm still on the SRX600(Early model of the 1985 model year).
I will continue to ride for the rest of my life.
yeah... when I sold my first SRX, I realized there was no other bike I wanted as much and ended up buying my second SRX which I would ride for over 20 years... in Tokyo... I am now on my 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.
Wow... that SRX kickstarted very easily.
It's a very beautiful vehicle ❣️
Yamaha's proto-mx-5. Great handling. Lower power. Beautiful.
I didn't buy one when they first came out (in the US).
It's still a bike I'd buy in a hot munute.
Such a nice bike.
The closest thing I can think of from recently to this bike is the mt-03 with the 660cc single from the xt.
Interesting you say this, awhile ago now ;-) I sat on an MT03 & had an MuZ Baghira same XTZ660 Engine, the MT03 was ok, but compared to the SRX everything seems so big, fat & Lardy. Looking at modern 125's the SRX is similar in size. A modern paired down bike would be great.
i own a 1986 SRX in 1990, my first real bike !
Nice bike.. I wish I had a motor like that too❤
Things have progressed but I'm now an old man, remembering when these came out (I had an RD then). I have an '06 Multistrada which is a relic in its own way too LOL. I'm looking at one of these with the Mikuni conversion kit.
That frame looks classy
yeah, a square cross section tube that is bent in some subtle ways, not a cost cutting sort of manufacturing choice. But this bike is like that in many details.
What a sound
Loverly - mine has an oil cooler and the rear pegs are on the swing arm
yeah, passenger pegs on swing arm, I have one bike with them... like an ejector seat...
i miss mine
Nearly bought one of these many years ago, but the one I rode just would not restart once the motor was hot. Apparently a common problem with them? Lovely styling and sound and taut handling on the road, otherwise.
.030 washer under needle
Fix hot start 🤔
Are the SRXs ok for tall riders ? I'm 6'1 and always wanted one.
I want to buy one
Looks like Marin Co
yes, West Marin is just right for the SRX600
that bike is cherry
Hey great bike! Can you tell me which turn signals these are?
not unusual, but, vibration can break the bulb support... and shatter the loose bulb, which has happened on several over the years, hot glue from a glue gun can dampen vibrations... I suppose this link can be a hint if it is allowed to show here in the text www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Polished-Alloy-Mark-2-Turn-Signal-Lights-Amber-Lens-Single-Filament-12-Volt/153402362112?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3D965e2491b5f242e68a72921c45ba30c2%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D171361945690%26itm%3D153402362112%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseUnbiasedWeb%26brand%3DEmgo&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851
What a nice place! Where are you living?
this is Marin county, I live in Sausalito. It is the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, California.
@@gregyermakov9206 I have imagined this place a little differently when reading "On the road" by Jack Kerouac.
@@caferacervic Kerouac, was for a time a Coast Guard, I have heard... I assume he was stationed at Fort Baker, Sausalito... seems the same... but the whole Bay Area was very different... the Beats followed the Bohemians... and the Hippies certainly rewrote what the Beats laid bare... Paperback was the fresh medium... Howl, Ginsburg, City Lights... owned by Ferlingetti... but you know, the 60's is SF's trademark for a long time... but since, it has been Tech... and at this point, Covid revisionism.
@@gregyermakov9206 Yes, everything changes, but nature still beautiful.
Marin, what a beautyfull place to life and ride. The bike is in perfect condition.
I’m thinking of getting one as my first bike. Would you recommend it ? Also I’m 6’3 I was wondering if you think it would fit my frame well enough
I am 5'8, and I would think this bike is for ... people around my height... and... it is kick start only, now once you know the general method it is ok BUT it is an old model with some parts that are hard to get... and if you are familiar with basic bike maintenance and troubleshooting it is a fine bike, but if you are new to motorbikes... might be very frustrating. Also, I would imagine not too many contemporary bike shops would be familiar with this model anymore... so... there are limitations. You could request joining the Facebook SRX600 group to find out more though.
This was a 2013 posting listing of the bike before I got it off Ebay raresportbikesforsale.com/young-and-single-1986-yamaha-srx600/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2nQoWS4oZUJhqw7fXlx69KWedrca-DT6pcl1gzG-sPqNttwirB5mwqCQ0_aem_AXwi6NstCGfEF-nqj9VB69TIKNyrGn3jiBQ4AAACguXjW7UMXMycTITlXaWkUE88gfS1IS_P_KuewohhZvN2cdfK

I want to buy one
you can get a decent one for around $2500, a very good one, preserved is more like $5,000. One that is not running but has potential, is around $1,000 if you know how to work on bikes, not a bad deal. But you need to know how to source parts, often no longer available. You can benefit from joining the SRX600 group on Facebook.
@@gregyermakov9206 do you know where I can find one of these for sale. I would like an original in (very) good condition.
