Thermal Imaging Footage - Mist Netting for Bats

- Long term research and monitoring of bat populations by Ian Davidson-Watts at a site in Wiltshire (under license from Natural England) provided six of our ecologists with very useful training in mist netting, handling and identification of bats. During the training 50 bats were captured including Natterer’s bat, Daubenton’s bat, Bechstein’s bat, greater horseshoe and lesser horseshoe bats. Bechstein’s bats trapped during the session were subject to radio tracking. Some of the session was captured on thermal imaging cameras, and show bats swarming around the net
