It was unreal. Also, how did that fight get "fight of the night"? Du Plessis was gassed after one round and Till wasted every opportunity to capitalize. Till is like the new Kevin Lee, he seems to have what it takes but always finds a way to lose.
I thought till should’ve used a left power head kick repeatedly towards the end. But yes, I was screaming too, like do something for the love of god! It was awful but they said he was hurt and couldn’t kick.

You can't just excuse Till for losing to another killer, and then think he'll get back on track in the next. It was a winnable fight for Till and he looked dogshit especially with the TDD. At this point, Till loses to the likes of Tavares and GM3 who are top 15 and unranked MW gatekeepers. Shahbazyan dusts him as well.
Love how Israel has always liked and respected Till and you could tell he was disappointed but not shocked with the outcome of the fight. Now that Izzy’s not champ it would have been a time they could finally make the fight, but Till unfortunately fumbled the bag yet again.
I'm truly impressed be been this close with chimaev for over a year and thats how his grappling looks 😂

I don't think Till's head has been in the fight game for awhile. See he saw a lot of money and early success due to hype, way before most people. This type of thing hurts many people because this sport is so demanding. Probably partly why Till gets hurt a lot too, because he is half doing everything. Like some of those shots, Till could and should have sprawled hard, but he didn't. So then he ends up in these situations where he always gets in a position because he doesn't react until he's absolutely forced to. It's how you get hurt.

Ditto! He hasn't shown any progress in his game either. Just goes to show that his idea of training is sparring, specifically kickboxing where he has somewhat of an advantage over his peers. And since you can't go 100% in sparring, Darren gets away with a lot of mistakes in the gym, mistakes that can get you hurt badly in a fight.
As you mentioned, him tasting success early in his career and having his balls tickled by everyone played a major role in his decline. He became comfortable way too early, explaining why he doesn't look like he really wanna be there.
He should step off the game for a while, start a business or something, and look after his young family.
After training with Khamzat I really expected Darren to have better take down defense

In standing , Jan's hitting ability was outstanding, but the situation turned around on the ground, which was a weakness
His performance in the game and the personality that they came together afterwards are enough to be applauded
What outstanding his leg kicks are amazing, but Ankalaev was very crisp in striking, he was ahead in the head and body strikes, pressuring jan until his legs are fucked up & then dominated Jan in the ground..
I watched the fight and Ankalaev seems the much stronger fighter but legs got destroyed

Stuff happens and we don't make excuses. Darren got caught with a lucky sub and his knee was badly compromised due to a torn ACL. Despite fighting at less 50%, he still nearly one because he is a warrior like myself. It is what it is and we don't make excuses though. Till will take this and learn from it and be back better than ever. This is his comeback arc. This is where the fire is reignited. This is where he gets his vengeance once and for all. I fear for any man standing in the way between Till and gold. Scouser by birth and Scouser forever
Appreciate the fire but there's no excuse for the complete lack of grappling, feels like the mental block comment might not even be far from the truth. He tapped in less than a second he was put into the RNC as well, it wasn't even fully in.
Till been training with khamzat and still has 0 takedown offence/defence 💀 he looked slow and was trying to set up his left and nothing else. He needs a huge change if he can get back to what he was and I hope he does 🙏
