The church story was one of my all-time favorites ever aired by "Unsolved Mysteries". I loved how the one lady sheepishly admitted she kept the song book which landed at her feet because "she didn't think anyone would mind".

The owners of the land were Frank Casteel and his wife, Susie. When Frank noticed more and more people intruding on his land he consulted a police officer who advised him to keep a logbook of everyone he witnessed. Frank had a run in with the three men and wrote it down, though never mentioned anything of murder. The men were later found dead and Casteel was a prime suspect. At the time Frank had a mistress, Mrs. Marie Hill, to whom Casteel’s wife sent his logbook in hopes that Mrs. Hill would leave him.[1] Mrs. Hill turned in the logbook to the police for evidence. Although there was no mention of violent behavior in the book and no physical evidence to support Casteel’s conviction, he was sentenced to life in prison. An appeal was made and eventually given an opportunity to overturn Casteel’s conviction in 2001.[2] The attorneys said there was no hard evidence that clearly identifies Casteel as the murderer.[3] In 2003 Frank Casteel was found guilty again for the triple homicide and returned to prison.[4]. Casteel died in prison in May 2019 at the age of 71.
Yes, happy to find Unsolved Mysteries. I was first drawn to the show when I was probably 8 years old, it was about Amelia Airhart and the Bermuda Triangle. The scariest episodes were about the unexplained.
I’m sure everyone thought it was meant for that Cindy .. knowing her office desk looked directly at the sign but still didn’t remove it for 6 mos.. it’s like they were all trying to scare her.. 🙄

It could be a lot of things other than divine intervention. It's amazing to me how people will hear about something incredible happening, and skip past all of the plausible rational explanations and jump straight to divine intervention or something like that.
I used to watch this show as a kid even though the theme music used to scare the hell out of me it was my favorite show so glad to find full episodes of it I've been binge watching it for 2 weeks now I just can't seem to stop
You have a choir where the director was adamant about punctuality, and for years no one was hardly ever late... and then this ONE evening each one of the choir members were late because of a different thing -- homework, cars not starting, laziness to go out in the cold, ironing a dress, a nap that lasted too long -- and that's the night the church exploded... my own spiritual beliefs aside, how can ALL of that just be a coincidence? Not just one or two members of the choir, but ALL of them? I can't believe there wasn't something "more" going on here.
That Church Story is awesome That's what happens with his people sometimes especially those who love to worship their creator. He will truly be their shield and their exceeding great reward.
Very comforting to see this story, particularly in these terrible times. We must all keep our faith and know He watches over his flock. Watching this has made me feel so much better.
In December 2016 the roof of a Nigerian church collapsed during services, killing at least two dozen people, and possibly up to 160. Why wasn't God looking out for his worshipers then? He wasn't their shield, obviously.
@@tekbarrier Or perhaps it was their time to go to God. Can you think of a better way to meet your maker in any way other than in the house of the Lord?
The human mind is an incredible thing. Does it have the ability to perhaps sense danger and produce hormones necessary to avoid it? Trivia: The crew of Unsolved Mysteries really blew up a church for this episode. The church was already scheduled to be demolished.
The theory I've settled on is that we have memories of the future. But they can be more vague than past memories, making it difficult to pin down details. We add and lose details to our past memories; the same could be argued about a memory of the future.
The West End Baptist Church Miracle is just too much of (to me) Divine Providence. *Every member having all those different reasons for being late.. and JUST LATE ENOUGH for most of them to witness the explosion is not coincidence or happenstance. No way.*

Surprised that they were able to get Jimmy Hendrix playing in the background because I thought I heard his estate doesn't allow his music to be used for anything. IIRC they even had to use cover versions in The Hendrix movie.
they let them use it in return for Unsolved Mysteries not running a story on Bobby Bilawack being the actual real guitarist and singer. While Hendrix just mimed like Milli Vanilli.....true 👍😂
That was so uncalled for and heinous -- the murder of those three guys on the ATV. I've ridden before in a rural area, and I've never worried that a neighbor would kill me or want me dead.
Yeah. Her wearing make-up was obviously the reason she disappeared. That totally insincere speech about welcoming her back with a nauseating, smarmy smile says, he really doesn't want her back. He couldn't give a rats arse what happened to her because very clearly her sinful wearing of make up and taking pride in her appearance was her downfall. Got to love a religious zealot haven't you?

Cindy’s dad saying she was an obedient girl is weird as hell! I’m not saying he had something to do with it but the way he expresses about her sounds more like a pet than a daughter.
Something is off with him talking about her makeup and not eating breakfast and how maybe that had something to do with what happened to her. Just not a great feeling about him.
I watched the Buzzfeed Unsolved about this case and they mentioned how odd her dad was about her after the disappearance. Like blaming her makeup on her disappearance. He sounds like a bad person in general
The fact that the choir who is habitually on time, but happens to all be late on the same day, just to miss becoming a casualty in an explosion 💥, is not a coincidence.
I was in Chattanooga recently and I kept thinking about this case. The ATV murders. I don’t see why the guy just didn’t tell them to get off the property and then file a police report. He already had the advantage with the gun.
I don’t think Cindy ran away to start a new life. I really think something terrible happened to her and I’m going to guess foul play. That or she was kidnapped and forced into human trafficking…
That baby at 18:40 that said "uh oh" right on cue has to be the most amazing acting in the whole segment. Not easy to get babies or little kids to do that. Hopefully the parents raised some decent college funds from their little tv star's acting and then had them go on and live a regular life.
At 11:43 to 12:02 Cynthia's dad creeps me out with the way he is smiling while talking about his missing daughter, he acts like he is talking about his favorite sports team instead of his missing daughter. Maybe he himself did something to her.
It ALWAYS bothers me the way he basically blames her for her own disappearance with that crap about "spending more time on her face than her stomach" and how that was "part of the problem". Are you really going on national TV and suggesting your daughter basically tempted men into taking her? I'm sure he loved and missed his daughter, but what a shitty thing to say.
Why do people jump to such conclusions without a shred of evidence? Just because he doesn't act the way you want him to act doesn't mean he killed his daughter. Nothing wrong with being optimistic. Clearly she was abducted at work. If he wanted to kill her he would've waited until she came home. Plus, her family or boyfriend would have alerted police to anything suspicious with the dad. It's a work related disappearance/murder.
@LadyEquipped The graffiti was proven to be unrelated. "In the mid-90's the police revealed that the person who had written the messages had been identified but wasn't believed to have any connection to her disappearance." (medium.com/@Unsolved_Mysteries/the-case-of-cynthia-anderson-did-she-just-walk-away-or-was-something-more-sinister-going-on-e1bce6cb0e7a) "The graffiti is not part of her case anymore. A poster in another Cindy Anderson thread said that her name is also Cindy and that the graffiti was meant for her that her boyfriend wrote for her. He died a few years later in a motorcycle accident. The poster even posted a letter from him to her in the thread. " Unfortunately, the poster in this thread (copied from www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=306159) did not link back to the thread with this other Cindy's post.
Watched this last night and her co-worker's grin at 4:40 also creeped me tf out!? I had to rewind that snippet like 5x to make sure I wasn't being ridiculous. If nothing else, just really weird.. And yeah, I thought her Dad seemed really odd there (re- body language); and contextually, those debutante / breakfast comments... Again, it's a reach to build my suspicions off this alone, but he was just giving me really visceral red flags / bad vibes

I have learned that we are given dreams for a reason, some are just pizza dreams, which we all have that basically mean nothing but then there are God given dreams and we usually will know for sure which ones are God given dreams because afterwards we will in many cases be shaken up bigtime afterwards and we will be troubled in a huge way because of the dream. Than you know its a God given dream. Usually these God given dreams are given for a purpose. Ask Him what are you to do and pray about it. If you don't you maybe putting your life at risk. The bible talks of many people throughout the bible who were given Godly dreams, some were a warning, actually many times they are warnings, other times its given to give us direction, if you sick for example and God will give you instructions on how to acquire your miracle, its does happen, it happen to me. And I've known many others who have had dreams as well that were along similar lines and were given instructions and when they follow through with the instruction's, they had a breakthrough and experienced their miracle, its does happen.

Unsolved Mysteries must've had special permission to use the Hendrix music during the 60s segment because they played the hell out of it.
moooov ohvuh n lett jimi taik ohvuh 😊
Like "White Rabbit", the "Watchtower" song defines that period of American history.
They really went all out with the budget for the Kathy Powers case, awesome music!
Yes, happy to find Unsolved Mysteries. I was first drawn to the show when I was probably 8 years old, it was about Amelia Airhart and the Bermuda Triangle. The scariest episodes were about the unexplained.
Missing time UFOs
How nice of them to cover up the love you message after 6 months.
I’m sure everyone thought it was meant for that Cindy .. knowing her office desk looked directly at the sign but still didn’t remove it for 6 mos.. it’s like they were all trying to scare her.. 🙄
@@gaynorpatterson2915 I think they found the person leaving the message and determined he likely wasn't involved in her disappearance.
@@joshlight6892 yeah I think they actually figured out exactly what couple it was and the boy had painted that in other spots around town too.
The message wasn’t even about Cindy Anderson. It was a different Cindy. The boyfriend of a different Cindy wrote the messages all over now. They are now married. This was known at the time they were written.
@@gaynorpatterson2915because they knew it wasn’t for her. Everyone did. It was written by a high schooler for his girlfriend and they were all over town. They are now married. Unsolved mysteries decided to leave this out because it didn’t fit the narrative.
I love the story about the church. None of them were meant to die that night.
I love the story of that choir. That can't be anything but divine intervention.
AMEN
It could be a lot of things other than divine intervention. It's amazing to me how people will hear about something incredible happening, and skip past all of the plausible rational explanations and jump straight to divine intervention or something like that.
So if a church member is early to church and gets shot, god wanted them to get shot since it didn’t “intervene”
Call it fate, luck, divine intervention, a miracle, in the end, all that matters is they weren't pulling bodies out of the rubble
It was!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS
THE MUSIC AND THIS GUY IS SCARY AS HELL!!!
I can't believe there wasn't something "more" going on here.
insurance fraud
The updates, and tense music attached are still eerie to me. Not to mention the creepy and sadistic looking mugshots of the criminals apprehended.😐
@@tekbarrier Why didn't you make an effort to save those people?
@@antonioacevedo5200 because I was thousands of miles away when it happened. So there's that...
@Jack McHue none of the church choir knew there was a gas leak, until after the explosion 💥
The theory I've settled on is that we have memories of the future. But they can be more vague than past memories, making it difficult to pin down details.
We add and lose details to our past memories; the same could be argued about a memory of the future.
I remember when they were looking for a barm to be demolished In Maryland for a segment on John Wilkes Booth.
15:50 - Blows my mind that moms back in the day bothered to iron a dress for a baby. 🤯
My mom almost obligated my older sister to iron her baby's dresses and clothes since she was a newborn xD my niece was born in late 2017 hahaha
We iron clothes today, as we appreciate our clothes looking crisp and neat.
It’s not just back in the day, there are still people who care about their appearance and the appearance of their family.
And ironed to go to choir practice, not even actual Sunday church service! The formality of the time sure was something.
"If I wouldn't have been listening to This Is Your Life, my life would've been over" lol
The West End Baptist Church Miracle is just too much of (to me) Divine Providence. *Every member having all those different reasons for being late.. and JUST LATE ENOUGH for most of them to witness the explosion is not coincidence or happenstance. No way.*
Beautiful
Except there were all reasons, it not like they just froze in place for no reason. Doesn't seem supernatural to me.

The Cindy Anderson story has some really thick Midwestern accents in it
Big time. Sounds like Wisconsin or Minnesota.
The Toledo accent is interesting. Nasal like Michigan but hints of upper Midwest otherwise.

The fact that Robert Stack was more than 70 years old when he started doing the show, is another testimony to the power that he holds!! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️
Really? I never knew that...he is such a handsome man.
He would have been 67 when the show started.
Something about the way Robert Stack says murder cuts to your core
I read about the choir whose none of the singers could be on time for the rehearsal.
Incredible!!!
Finding who wrote the graffiti will identify her killer.
Rest in peace, Cindy. My condolences to all of her loved ones.
And the sheet music and book being delivered wow truly miraculous
Now I know why this episode was blocked in my country for so long.
Damn you Jimi Hendrix and your devilish licks!
Thank you only watch it at night 👍
38:47 it's foreshadowing that Robert Stack was rocking a Burberry shirt in the late 80's & fast forward a lil over a decade later you couldn't watch a rap video without rappers doing the same thing. He scared the shit outta me as a youngin' but he had class too lol
I peeped dat too on another episode too. Rob Stack was at a dock. #RobDrippinStacks lol
The exploding church. I sincerely believe that this is a case of divine intervention. It was so unlike anyone to be late. For 15? Individuals to be independently Late was too coincidental . So yes I think they were being looked after. This is just my opinion.
Cindy was killed by someone she knew
That's what I think. Or being held against her will.
She ran away.
The senior partner in her law firm was involved in a drug trafficking ring. Her disappearance presumably had to do with her coming in to information about his illegal activities or was to send a message.
Yasssss Unsolved Mysteries With Robert Stack Is Back But Creepy As Hell The First Story The Cynthia Anderson Case Absolutely Scared The Shit Out Of Me I Theorized That She Was Abducted From Her Office In August Of 1981 Held Against Her Will Tortured Than Murdered I Pray There's A Resolution In Her Case Very Sad Situation Indeed
Yeah thought the same thing because of copyright
The church exploding and each choir member to avoid it that night is straight out of Final Destination!
That was so uncalled for and heinous -- the murder of those three guys on the ATV. I've ridden before in a rural area, and I've never worried that a neighbor would kill me or want me dead.
A lot of illegal activities happening in the woods down south. Them 3 probably rolled up and saw something they weren't supposed to see IMO.
Cindy's father was a real piece of work. He seemed almost annoyed that she would dare to disappear let alone wear make up, What a prick.
Some people wondered if she decided to run away for that reason, like she wanted more from life than what her parents wanted
Yeah I noticed that. He never seemed to demonstrate any concern or sadness that his daughter was missing.
@@jessicavictoriacarrillo7254 that seems VERY plausible.
@@jessicavictoriacarrillo7254 and leave her money to rot?
Got to love a religious zealot haven't you?
the funny thing about a lot of these "revolutionaries" is they ended up betraying their ideals for money and power, and are now the ones that modern revolutionaries are fighting against...
Lots of people are fighting against lots of things. The only question is who has the best cause?
Lol the "revolutionaries" today are funded by corporations and outside interests. Nothing has changed
I would like to know why isn't there anymore shows like this show on TV. I loved watching the cases on here.
Forensic files and fbi files are the closet to this. 48 hours used to creep me out as well.
Thanks for the upload
Wow the church explosion gives me chills Everytime. God was with them that evening!!!
YES HE WAS!!!!!
I live 20 miles south of Chattanooga Tn and remember when this happened.
the signal mountain murders?
In the Cynthia case,. The mystery caller said two houses. Side by side owned by the same person! How hard would that have been to check!??
That is like saying how hard would it be for the caller to give the F ing address.Could you imagine the caller legit could have saved her and didnt.Dont fault the cop for that.
@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants While I agree the caller was ridiculous, it would have also been super easy for the police to contact the county's Register of Deeds and find out who owned two properties next to each other. I'm often baffled by the carelessness of the police in these episodes. But then again, they're not giving us the full story, either. Nor can they in such a short amount of time.
@@sethmoking It would still be way easier for the caller to either give the right address or at least the street name. Not telling the cops ruined the whole point of the call.
@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants I agree the mystery caller could at least gave a street name to narrow the search.......but clearly the woman is scared to death...I mean she could have been threatened by who ever held Cindy...if she told anyone..........I remember the Night Stalker case the guy who told police who the Night stalker really was dissappeared soon after...and far as I know was never seen again..........at the time there was a huge reword for info and it was never claimed..regardless if the guy wanted it or not bottom line he's never been seen..as was told on Unsolved Mysteries.

I’ve watched the reboot on Netflix. It’s ok but it needs a host. The host helps tell the story with the creepy music being the backdrop.

@@ivypoison6806 oh!?
Cindy’s dad saying she was an obedient girl is weird as hell! I’m not saying he had something to do with it but the way he expresses about her sounds more like a pet than a daughter.
"Religious fundamentalist family" = incest and abuse. She probably ran away.
Agreed. He acted like a weirdo during his segment. She loved her face and didn’t want to eat.
Ya very weird how he described her, fuckin weirdo!!!
Yeah he senselessly slaughtered them, so terrible. 😐 I’m glad the murderer Frank Casteel was sentenced to life as he should’ve been given in prison.
They weren´t on his property. What they were doing was legal but I believe Casteel didn´t like the noise or something.

I live near Signal Mountain in the Chattanooga area. Frank Casteel just passed away in prison last year.
That baby at 18:40 that said "uh oh" right on cue has to be the most amazing acting in the whole segment. Not easy to get babies or little kids to do that. Hopefully the parents raised some decent college funds from their little tv star's acting and then had them go on and live a regular life.
That was the cutest moment!
It amazes me not one or two late but a car would not start, study for math, sleeping, listening to the radio etc. It was not there time.
the one listening to the radio is my grandma...
Christian fundamentalist. 😐
"In the mid-90's the police revealed that the person who had written the messages had been identified but wasn't believed to have any connection to her disappearance." (medium.com/@Unsolved_Mysteries/the-case-of-cynthia-anderson-did-she-just-walk-away-or-was-something-more-sinister-going-on-e1bce6cb0e7a)
"The graffiti is not part of her case anymore.
